I bought a half gallon of Tropicana orange juice this afternoon. There was a large sign saying $5.99. However, the man at the counter said the price was $6.99 and the $5.99 price was for the cranberry juice next to the orange juice. There was no price directly in front of the orange juice.

The clerk then charged me sales tax on my purchase. I asked him why he was charging me sales tax on a food item, since food items are not taxed. He said "Because they charge us." I said there was no sales tax on food items. He repeated "That's what they charge us." It made no sense. I got nowhere with him.

The clerk also neglected to give me a receipt.

He was dishonest. It is a shame he needs to treat his...
