I purchased a brand new Homesteader Trailer in 2021, in hopes to maintain a clean and professional image. I was hoping that the trailer, with some understandable maintenance on my own, would look great for years to come. I’m am now embarrassed when I pull this poorly made wagon to job sites. In my opinion this trailer must have been made with the cheapest materials available. The steel has had an accelerated rust issue since I purchased it, no matter how much I’ve washed, cleaned and repainted the steel. The aluminum exterior shell is corroding quickly, leaving holes in the exterior aluminum shell. There are many active corroding areas! It appears that a metallurgical reaction at the base, where the aluminum is in contact with the steel frame. The upper areas that are corroded seem to be corroding from the inside out. This trailer is only 2 1/2 years old!! I have another 2013 trailer that does not have any such issues with the corroding exterior shell. The seals on the doors do not do a good job of keeping the water out. Areas of wood on the inside of the doors are water stained. The wood is now getting soft and rotting. I wish I had looked better into this manufacturer’s reputation before buying. I now see that they back up their product only so far. In my opinion, they don’t care about their image. I highly recommend looking into other trailer manufacturers.
Thank you for acknowledging my review. Do you only acknowledge the praise and glory that is given? Please acknowledge me review!! You obviously don’t want to make things right, or at least say that you’re sorry for the inferior product that...
Read moreJust picked up a 2023 20ft Intrepid about 6 weeks ago. Very disappointed. Quality and workmanship are just awful. Totally regret this purchase. First, the exterior is quite wavy, and lots of horrible mitered cuts on all the finish aluminum. There is already rust weeping in many places from all the screws! There is one small roof leak that just developed. Everything is super cheap - the plastic side door latch broke on the third time holding it open. Clearly they tried to save a penny everywhere, there is no reflective tape, and the roof vent must have cost them no more than 25 cents - I'm afraid to touch it. The coating on the exterior panels is garbage - I drilled a hole installing a shore power plug and a drop of oil from the drill bit ran and despite wiping it immediately left a permanent stain in the finish. The wood interior looks like a child put it together, gaps everywhere, most saw cuts crooked. The footwell by the door is a major trip hazard with a 1.25" ledge to step out. The E-track is hung crooked. Much of the floor joists are sheet metal Z bracket, not steel tube. One section of ceiling insulation is falling down. Shame on me - I bought it from a dealer in another state just from photos. I fully realized I was buying an economical, minimal feature trailer, but this is really very, very poor quality. I also wish I read the many other similar reviews right here on Google and Youtube. There are so many other brands to pick - I suggest you pick...
Read moreI ordered an 8.5x20, vnose, 14k with ramp door for our business late last year. I took delivery of it early January. We intended to build it out inside to fit our construction business. We were busier than usual this winter so it sat in our shop until a few weeks ago when I had time to work on it. I had my guys paint the inside before we began the buildout. About halfway through the build I had to remove a side panel for access only to discover the frame/skeleton of the trailer to be bare metal. Upon this I looked underneath to find that it was sub standardly undercoated as well with spots missed everywhere and rust covering most of the bottom side of the frame. We had towed it from the dealer to our shop only at this point. Amoung other things are a crooked license plate light, a 1/2” gap at the step by the side door where the metal step meets the plywood, rust already forming along the back at the roof line above the door. The trim not being fully attached over the rear door spring, dot tape blowing off that was factory installed on the ride home, metal angle that stuck out in the fenderwells that would have cut a tire once the trailer was loaded. My dealer took the trailer back to undercoat it, address the tape and cut off the angles in the fender wells along with finding three loose wheel bearings. To say I am dissatisfied at this point would be an...
