North Shore Exchange — Local services in New Trier Township

Fabulous store! Although they have very high end designer items (Chanel, Balenciaga, Gucci, etc.), the volunteers who staff the shop are extremely warm and welcoming, even if you don't swan in there dripping in diamonds and carrying a Birkin bag. It's such a nicely laid out and well curated shop, and all of the items are absolutely gorgeous and high quality. I love shopping second hand, and while this is a different experience (and serves a different clientele) from Goodwill or Salvation Army, it's nice to see a luxury consignment shop done so well. I recently visited the North Shore Exchange's online store, and was impressed with the selection of items available for purchase. It was well-organized, making it easy to browse through the various sections.

More importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful -- particularly Patricia, the store manager, whose assistance was greatly appreciated. Finally, I like the fact that this consignment shop supports a number of worthy causes, as the proceeds go towards helping those in need.

This place is super nice! I needed a dress for a wedding (which happens pretty often since I rarely actually get a nice dress). I generally dislike shopping...but this shop is so easy to like! Everything was in great condition, and up to date or classic. There were a number of nice dresses which also would have been good for work. Coats, lovely boots, and beautiful jewelry and accessories. It is fairly expensive for a resale shop, however the items for sale are almost new and are brands which cost a lot.... also, the slightly bolder items actually were beautiful and not-run-of-the-mill.
