Let me start by saying the man running Little Red Hen was unbelievably rude — not just having a bad day, but legitimately hostile. From the moment I walked in, he acted like I was a burden for even showing up. When I politely asked where the trash can was, he actually complained about having to answer the question — like I was somehow bothering him just by asking.
Then when my friend came in and asked the same basic question, he straight-up got angry and visibly irritated, like we were causing him a personal offense just by existing in his restaurant. It was so uncomfortable and honestly shocking.
The food? Not worth a dime. Mediocre, bland, forgettable. Definitely not anything close to what they charge — and that's the next problem. The prices are completely made up on the spot. There’s no price list, no receipts, nothing clear. You get handed a total out of thin air, and if you question it, good luck. He acts like you're insulting him just for asking.
The whole experience was shady, disrespectful, and ridiculously overpriced. I left feeling disrespected, scammed, and honestly kind of grossed out by the whole interaction. I don’t know how a business like this keeps going — maybe people are too shocked to say anything.
Bottom line: Don’t go to Little Red Hen. Unless you like being treated like garbage and overpaying for mediocre food, spend your money somewhere that actually appreciates...

Looking for a great place to eat in Glencoe? Look no further than the Little Red Hen! This cozy little restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the food is absolutely delicious.
The Little Red Hen is best known for its homemade pies, and they do not disappoint. The pie crust is flaky and buttery, and the fillings are always fresh and flavorful. The apple pie is my personal favorite, but the cherry and blueberry pies are also excellent.
In addition to pies, the Little Red Hen also serves a variety of other homemade dishes, all of which are tasty and reasonably priced. The chicken pot pie is a real standout - the chicken is tender and the vegetables are cooked to perfection. The quiche is also excellent, and the Little Red Hen makes a mean grilled cheese sandwich.
Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, the Little Red Hen is a great choice. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is simply unbeatable. So next time you're in Glencoe, be sure to stop by the Little Red Hen - you won't be...
Read moreI arrived at the restaurant to have lunch, I'm a uber/lyft drive and had just dropped someone off in the area and decided to look for a place to have lunch. There were a few people in front of me and the lady asked me if I was a uber driver yes and no, I was there to eat not pick up a delivery, I want to know why she would ask that she didn't see me car with thw emblems on it because I parked a few doors down, so I said I would like tyo order. She said oh ok and walked away. I thought that was rude to ask. The man that took the order was being nice, but that lady needs to respect her customers and stop judging people. The chicken dinner was good and crispy. If and when I come back if she's there I will not be insulted or judged by her,...
