Hometown Coffee & Juice — Restaurant in New Trier Township

Service: We ordered takeout before we biked there, and our food was ready on time. We also decided we should eat at the restaurant outside, and someone immediately cleared and cleaned a table for us!

Food: We were very hungry from biking 14 miles, so we would have eaten just about anything haha. The ingredients in our bagel and brioche sandwiches were very fresh, but the bagels themselves were more dense than expected. Everything seasoning on the bagels also seemed lacking. Compared to some of the other local bagel in the area, the bagels here were just average. The drinks were pretty good and refreshing! Also got the funfetti rice krispy - fun for sure and yummy, but not the biggest fan of the sprinkles texture with the rice krispy.

Atmosphere: cute and clean inside. Great place to meet with friends. Plenty of seating outdoors in the summer but there are also lots of people on the weekends so may need to wait for an...

Hometown Coffee and Juice in Glencoe is a cozy spot that’s perfect for anyone who loves tasty, healthy food like salads and avocado toast, and their coffee is just amazing—it’s mild and not burnt, making it one of the best around! It’s right by the train station, making it easy to get to if you’re walking or taking the train because finding a parking spot can be really tough. Also, it’s a very popular place, so it gets super busy. If you’re planning to meet someone here, try to come at least fifteen minutes early so you can find a place to sit. The food and coffee is great but it’s a nightmare to get a table on the weekends. Everything we’ve had is great, but I particularly love the tartines and smoothie bowls. And coffee is a must.

The folks cleaning up do a great job considering what a madhouse it is - despite how totally rude and entitled the patrons can act - they are always happy to help. We actually saw a woman kick a napkin from the floor near here to another table and then complain about how the table wasn’t cleaned well enough for her. It was insane but that’s the kind of stuff you see in the north shore 🤣 The staff seems to roll with the punches - totally admirable.
