If you like college basketball then this is the place for you. Northwestern Wildcats men's and women's basketball play here. I'm not sure if they use the facility for volleyball or other sports/events, you should check out their website for more information on that.
The venue is great, there isn't really a bad seat in the house. Concessions are concessions, nothing to write home to Mom about but you'll be covered if you get thirsty or want a snack. Restrooms are nice and clean and generally the atmosphere is great. The student section adds to the fun of the events and they can get loud.
This is a place where memories are made. I can still remember leaving a NU vs Brown basketball game in 1996 (they lost) to find the NU Rose bowl team just arriving back from the game. The celebration was huge even though they lost, it was epic as a young teenager.
Anyway, it's a great place to go with your buddies or family. Take your mom & dad to a basketball game. Invite your daughter to watch and be inspired by the woman's basketball team. Just go and...
Read moreAll I can say is Wow! Having been to many college sports arenas over the years, this is the most impressive. Visually very striking. Good sight lines, good p.a. system, comfortable seats comparatively wide(only negative might be that space between front of your seat and back of the seat in front of you is a little tight). Scoreboard is bright and pleasant to view. School made good strategic decision to shrink seating capacity to achieve that 'homey' feeling, if you know what I mean. But that's outside the purpose of this review. The place is also convenient to public transportation from both Metra and CTA. In fairness, although I toured the facility, I did not get upstairs so I cannot comment directly on that area, but I believe it will offer a closer perspective than 2nd level seating at other arenas. Overall, this place is a home...
Read moreThe seats are look and feel comfier than you expect at a stadium but as a 6’2” person I had to straddle the seat in front of me as the aisles are narrower than basic economy on Spirit Airlines. The student section is awesome now. It honestly feels like everyone is in a skybox seat given the comfortable atmosphere, non-rowdy upper-class home crowd, and intimate size. There is a total lack of concession variety and they could use a few more options. And, there is ZERO info online about what to expect from parking to what you can/can’t bring into the stadium; even ChatGPT broke when I asked it to try to find info. It’s a great venue for kids as you can get onto the court afterwards, get close to players, and aside from a couple stray visiting fans can expect a positive...
