Unless you absolutely must dorm because your estimated commute is insane I wouldn’t necessarily recommend dorming here. It is nice having that sense of independence but this place has serious issues. For one, if you have a disability get ready. The buttons to open the door rarely work and sometimes there are problems with the elevator, the elevator was once broken for a near month and a half and all students were forced to either take the stairs with heavy groceries or wait forever. Next the medical emergency protocol here is terrible, several times I’ve needed EMS, and they first call campus security then 911 is called. They have little to no medical training compared to EMS but for some reason they’re called first. I had once fainted and of course campus security was called, I was obviously unconscious but my friend told me they thought I was having an allergic reaction 🙄. None of the staff RAs or otherwise are medically trained not even in basic first aid or BLS, which I guess they feel like isn’t necessary for training because my life can totally wait for incompetent campus security. Next is maintenance, if your toilet a broken or garbage disposal is not working good luck. There’s only one maintenance man for both apartment buildings so it can take a few days to weeks to have any problem fixed. They don’t really do much in terms of conflict, I had to go to the overall school head to get moved from my original dorm, I didn’t even know who my RA was until 6 months into the school year. She never introduced herself, just slapped a poster onto the wall and hoped for the best. As for conflict they always just say “Tell your RA”, more often than not, they won’t do anything and will most likely be apart of the problem. They also smoke weed and play loud music just as much as most people here, and trying to report it is just a waste of breath. And the move in/out process is atrocious. Living there for a whole year you’re naturally going to have a lot of stuff, but they don’t allow anyone to come upstairs with you to help, so you have to do it all by yourself, and they only give you a 30 minute time span. As well as the require you to move out at noon 3 days before finals end at the end of the school year, if not, you’re fined $100 every extra day. They’re out to make money and nothing more. They love to promote the perks of living there, but hide...
Read moreThe apartment housing style might be nice and convenient, but not worth it at all. When I moved in the shower head was filled with brown dirt, oven dirty, I saw a roach and there were random holes in places……etc… obviously the apartment wasn’t throughly cleaned out before move in day. For the price you’re paying it is a scam. The location of the dorm is terrible and staff do not care about you at all. They try in every single way to take advantage and get more money out of you. They have hidden fees and will not return your complete deposit to you. I had permission from the assistance manager to move out late but then when they sent the deposit check back, $100 was charged for a late move out fee when I previously had written and verbal permission. Screenshot every little message or it’ll backfire! Now they’re ignoring my emails. They trick and scam you in every opportunity. They’ll tell u one thing and confirm it and turn around and not follow through and add a “but…” and add an “excuse” or “condition” on why it didn’t happen. Their words cannot be trusted. Don’t dorm here, whatever you do it’s not...
Read moreCurrently live here. Do not recommend it. Always stinks of weed outside the building, especially at night which doesn't look good to visitors or parents coming at night. They be looking around to see if anyone watching them too lol People like to yell and scream at 2am outside the building and staff won't do crap about it. People try to act like they from the ghetto. Staff "try" to be welcoming to other people during events but they usually act like party animals in the halls and everyone is pretty much grouped up already. Told my roommate to stop stinking up the dorm of weed, but they never listen so be careful picking the right roommate! You can only have pretty much 1 visitor at a time which is stupid for paying 16k a year. They have to sign in and give their IDs to the front desk. Room looks like a jail cell. Take pictures of any water damage, or damage in general that's already in the dorm before you move in cause it'll be your fault that they didn't inspect it right before move in and you'll end up...
