There was a known bed bug and scabies infestation there some years ago since they provide all your bedding.I dont know if they took care of that issue since I haven't been there in awhile.I know some residents had money stolen out of their purse and items stolen from their room while sleeping or when they have left the room to to go to the dining room to eat either by some of the housekeepers that came into their room to clean or by the health aides they recommend to you to hire to help the residents during the day, so please be aware of that and hide your money,jewelry and purse when you are sleeping and do not leave your purse,jewelry or money in your room when you are not there.Besides that the staff are pretty nice, the residents are mostly friendly,the dining room hall has a very pleasant atmosphere and the food is decent.The one room was very small with only a bed ,a closet , tv with a small bathroom and one table with two chairs nothing else.No access to cooking or refrigerator since all meals are in dining hall three times a day are included in price which was over $1200 per month some years ago.I don't know what the rates are...

The location can't be beat- rooms have views of the water that are absolutely breathtaking. Having visited many communities , Island Shores is the only that has no lease and doesn't collect large entrance fees which can sometimes scare an incoming resident.
