This skatepark used to be cool from the day it opened until the parks department took down the ramps and put in recycled jungle gym parts. This park has the old LES obstacles which is cool but alot of those were just put there in kind of awkwardly and without regards to actual flow. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE REBUILT! It can be such an amazing park that has the similar chill elements of ledges and flatbars, and stuff for people to elevate their skills and for riders of all skill level. You must know how to ollie in order to skate pretty much anything here. It's completely disrespectful how the parks department deemed it unsafe and put this in without any actual community input. THEY EVEN STOLE DONATION MONEY FROM LOCAL BMXERS TO REBUILD. Shame on whoever is blocking this park from being rebuilt.

HOW is Staten Island the "borough of parks" yet in 2025, we still only have two skateparks while every other borough has been getting new skateparks every year for the last 20 years. The disrespect. We are going to the community board meetings moving forward to advocate for new skateparks on the island. The second, third, and fourth Tuesday of each month for the north shore, mid island, and south shore respectively. Come through and let's show Staten Island that there should be more skateparks!!!! Follow @skatetoelevate on IG for more details about the fight for a new skatepark on Staten...

The skate park is rarely used these days, most times sits unoccupied, as I see when I take the kids to the adjoining light house playground. Skatepark used to be packed with kids on scooters bikes and skateboards. Shame the city was scared of...

It's actually impressive how awful this skatepark is. I totally see it from a politicians POV - make it as cheap and as boring as humanly possible so that no one would even want to use it. No one uses it & no one gets hurt, and no wear & tear and hence no future maintenance needed. Everyone wins, except of...
