I am chronically ill and I've been in many different facilities, including hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care hospitals. Laconia is the best facility I have ever been in. Since the age of 21, I've been hospitalized at least 2 times a year for 2 months to 6 months for mental health or physical health. Now that I am older, I live here as a long-term patient. The staff here, from the business office to Nurses and CNAs, even maintenance, go above and beyond. I've never had better care. They are full of cheer and compassion and do a good job at making me feel clean and meeting my needs. Once in a while, there may be a misunderstanding, but Mr. Berger, the administrator, or Ava, the social worker, intervenes and mediates, reconciling the situation. Mr. Berger is a great advocate for me, and whenever I run into a situation that leaves me feeling uncomfortable, he is my number one advocate. Ava has helped me with applying to an online college. The Nursing supervisors are hands-on and are very involved, letting me be a part of my care decisions. It is easy to communicate with the staff here to get my needs met. Once you get into a routine with a CNA, they know you well and can meet your needs without you having to even ask them. Ms. Duntely on the overnight shift is one of my favorite CNAs's she knows exactly how to put my pampers on to make me feel clean and comfortable. Ms. Brown, Ms. Dougless, Ms. Diane, and Ms. Davis are so friendly and regular CNAs on my floor. They all work well together and take good care of me with friendly faces and a good sense of humor. Ms. April works on the weekends, and she is also another favorite of mine. She has a great attitude and knows how to make me laugh. Vanessa is a CNA who is going to school for nursing. I am so happy for her, and she is so sweet. Nyoka is another CNA who treats me with respect and is kind. Bella is a sweet and kind person, another CNA I work with. Ms. WIlson was my first CNA I bonded with here, she took such great care of me. I can honestly say out of all the facilities I've been in, this is the best one. The team works hard together to make your life better. The Rehab team is consistent and healing. If I had to pick one complaint about this place, the worst I could say is that I don't always like the food here, Bu they also have a lot of good food. They also provide snacks for the afternoon and evening, and that helps a lot. They have in-house doctors for convenience and respiratory therapy.
I've had to go to the hospital on several occasions for my breathing issues, but when I come back, I always have a room waiting for me! I will always...

Since they were relocated to NYC and admitted, their health and everything overall has improved. The administration, clinical/nursing staff, recreation, housekeeping have all been helpful, supportive and friendly. I have a wonderful relationship with Laconia staff and residents, I love visiting and being involved in activities. My parents are very happy and most importantly, safe and well taken care of. I highly recommend Laconia as a place for your loved ones. My experience has been positive and I am always grateful to Laconia administration and staff for all that they do. Looking forward to spending the holidays there again this year. Thank you Laconia!!!
My parents have been here for 2 years and I could not be more grateful and happy that I chose Laconia. I had to place my parents here as an emergency during the pandemic and was very anxious and stressed about the process. My first contact was Josephine who was absolutely amazing and lovely, she helped ease all of my fears and made me feel hopeful that everything would be ok. They helped me so much through the entire process and I felt blessed to have chosen Laconia. All of the staff that I have worked with have been awesome, Ann Braunstein is wonderful and has been very helpful and guided me through all the questions I have had. Barbara and Monique are amazing as well and do a wonderful job of planning activities and helping all of the residents. I have a great relationship with the nursing staff, especially Ama and Marston who are lovely. Mr. Berger is also great and professional, did a great job of helping families be able to visit during this difficult Covid time. Mr. Muniz is awesome and kind, Vema is absolutely wonderful and always takes time to listen to any health concerns I have. Laconia has been a godsend for my family and I love visiting, talking to the staff and helping out with activities when I can. My parents are safe and happy and I thank the Laconia staff for being...
Read moreThis 4 rating is a lie when the State has given them a 1. So now letâs get into the truth, most families donât come visit there love ones here on a daily basis or they would know the CNAâs are abusive especially in the 5th floor. I have seen so I donât need to ask how they treat the residence there. I have watched two of my motherâs roommates come in alert and by the 3rd month they have deteriorated to the point where one died. I am currently in the process of getting my mother out of there this year. If my son didnât die I would be taking care of here at home, she wouldnât need to be there. When I catch the CNA who choked her, I am going to lose everything. The CNAs are abusive and neglectful. They have one by the name of Renee who likes to talk crazy to my mother yet when I am there she has nothing to say. The CNAs take over the day room and donât allow the residents to watch what they want and when recreation say something they have recreation removed from the floor. They refuse to hire better CNAs. The food is horrible, dogs eat better. The doctor there is the worse. I have asked over and over again for my mother to see a Gastroenterologist, condescendingly he stated she needed to see a surgeon and still nothing. He walks around like he owns the place just like the Jamaican CNAs do. They run that place as if they live there and not the residents. Bed bound/paraplegic patients are changed once in the morning. 7-3 shift and they have to wait until 4 to be changed again. I record everything and I am building a solid case cause when I sue the state there will be nothing they can say for being just as neglectful as the facility is. You make a complaint and they come to check how clean the place is not how the care and service is to the residents. There is but so much complaining one can do while nothing gets done so my mother has to suffer. If this is what bring God glory then he got the world he created. Cause people are definitely suffering, while others...
