I grew up as a child across from Seton Falls Park in the 1970’s . To be exact seton ave + 233rd st (dead end )street. it looks like the dept of recreation has finally claimed ownership after all those years. Now it has curb appeal. A man made waterfall, clear paths and lots of trees for picture taking. So many fond memories ! The friends I had were awesome and we used to play in the park every day. If you ever saw the black-and-white TV show the little rascals, we had similar adventures. There was a swamp and a stream and we would catch salamanders there. We built club houses in the park equipped with cushions and car seats for chairs. We built go carts out of baby carriage wheels , 2x4’s and had a rope for a steering wheel. We would ride down 233rd street and seton ave in traffic all the way to Dyer ave. Did I mention we didn’t have brakes? We actually camped out with a tent one night. extreme fond memories...
Read moreOk now being that I am naturally a nature Queen I gravitated here with ease. This park is so beautiful. It has so many trails and off trail spots to just relax and enjoy nature. I never stay on a path I always wander. I've found some really beautiful spots for photography of all sorts. My husband used this park to record his short film and its given such a nice touch to the film simply for being beautiful. They have 2 children parks and both are great. My kids love coming here. We spent our 3 year wedding anniversary here, just grilling and relaxing while the children play. If you aren't a bronx native this would be a shock because being from Queens and moved to the bronx we don't have many big parks in our hoods. Not this nice and not this big... So to all NY natives and tourists, YOU MUST VISIT HERE...
Read moreI run and workout in this park in the summer but honestly that's because I am fearless. This park is definitely NOT safe, there is always some drunkard early in the morning and last time I check there was a dead girl found over here. Any how green and trees and dirt is always beautiful. Sometimes there are volunteers who clean up the park which is nice for the hood. I wouldn't send my kid here alone and if you're easily frightened then walk with mace and you will be ok.
Great hiking hills and shortcuts though and it is next...
