We didn't get to try the kayaking due to weather, but we rented one of their vacation houses. If you enjoy ninja warrior and want to train, they have a glass door with a 4 foot drop to a ledge below, you can practice jumping from a car roof to the ledge, then climb in through the sliding door! We were told it was accessible for our 70-something parents, the railing-free steep steps to get inside were perfect for teaching them to work through the pain: after all, pain is just weakness leaving the body!
They also had a great rustic feel by having had construction equipment laying around outside, a giant box with a toilet in the living room, cabinet doors falling off their hinges. They give an air of excitement to the stairs when you feel a couple of them wobble as you step on them. The exposed outlets can offer a shockingly great time.
Even better news though: they are putting in what looks like a deck in front, which makes total sense since the rest of the house is clearly a finished work of art.
Got an entimologist in your group? Tell them to go to the stacked patio chairs outside and check the 4th one down, it will delight them to study the vibrant silverfish ecosystem!
They did keep it nice and clean and provided towels with no hand soap for the bathroom, but we did enjoy having a fight to the death to determine who deserved to have 1 of the 2 coffee cups in...
Read moreSCAM ALERT BEWARE - Car Towed as were 5 other families. Wisner Signage is misleading. Bathrooms are covered in urine and toilet paper. Our bus driver admitted to being drunk on the job while swerving heavily on the road. Their employees will not tell you where your car went when itâs towed. The police and city are used to this - as is wisners - as is the tow company - it happens daily. $325 tow fee and 4 hours later we got our vehicle from âJerryâs towingâ in newaygo. They will send you on a 15 minute drive to white cloud (with what car?) where you should expect to pick up your vehicle - which you will find out when you arrive that you are only there to pay the fee, then you must drive BACK to newaygo (with what car?) to pick up your vehicle from the impound lot that is only Less than a mile from the wisnerâs parking lot. If your car is towed do not go to white cloud, your vehicle will be parked at 8119 mason ave in newaygo, where you can only pay cash to get your vehicle out of impound. The owner of the tow company will threaten to hold your vehicle over night if you donât use clean language with him - which guess what, will cost you a further impound fee if that happens....
Read moreWe just had an awful experience while at âWisner Rents Canoesâ in Newaygo. While this negative review isn't about them, per se, it does warn others about doing business with them, due to the neighbors.
The company has inadequate parking and inadequate signage. Our cars (three or us) werenât just ticketed while we canoed, they were impounded!
I could understand a $20 parking ticket (which we also got) but this is ridiculous. It almost seems like collusion. And the impound lot is in another city 10 miles away. Each car was $187! And they only take cash!
We discovered this after getting off the river and the impound lot was closed! We are an hour from home and stranded and no one cares! Is this a scam? Are the neighbors in cahoots with the towing company?
The City of Newaygo should be ashamed! People come from all over to do business in your town and fall prey to these predatory tactics.
We just got our vehicles after spending more than $600 and are headed home with nothing but bad feelings about the City of Newaygo, Wisners rents Canoes, the Newaygo Police Department, Jerry's Towing, and the...
