JR'S Discount Outlet — Local services in Newberry

Sat, June 36, 2025. Lousy shopping experience. Mostly unpriced items on the shelves. Outdated food that is likely okay, but not optimal, since you can't be certain as to how it was handled prior to being in this store Aisles are only wide enough for one person with a cart. You cannot pass if coming the opposite way. Every corner, you have to lift the cart to get around the corner. If you have items in the cart, it is difficult to navigate. Add a few other customers and it is impossible. Got to the check out counter and waited 5 solid minutes for someone to show up. Left my items on the counter and left. I won't be returning, ever. ...

I went to JRs discount store in Old Town the whole staff is top-notch and what they do. I was in the store today and I had a prosthetic leg on and as I was walking back out to my car I had an accident with my leg and I fell pretty hard on my stump. A lady sing me fall and went into the store to get help JR himself. And one of his staff came out and assisted me and getting up they brought a chair in a first aid kit I created a pretty good road rash on my prosthetic leg. I feel this gentleman and his staff really do care about their community and I would like to publicly thank them for attending to me with my fault. Thank you again Junior...

You know this used to be place to get discounted food yeah every once in a while it was stale or no good but his price is now are just as expensive as Old Town market across the street. I'm not buying clams here for same price when I don't know if they've been handle and stored correctly or expired. Not sure what's discounted about bag of chips being 20 cents cheaper than real grocery store and possibly no good because came out back of discount truck. What a shame, was a nice thing...
