Brought two phones in to get the screens fixed. $270 all together. One phone I had planned on selling, the other was my personal phone. Picked them up and one of the bezels didn’t match the phone I should’ve spoken up then. Had a friend with me who was getting pictures taken from an older that the screen was completely busted on. They offered to get his pictures off for free so long as they could keep his phone for parts. Keep that in mind as it plays a part in the problem later. So again the bezel didn’t match the phone but Ricky demonstrated that they were both working and said I had thirty days to bring them back in if something was wrong. I put the phone I was going to sell in a drawer at home, posted it for sale online. Three weeks later my son drops my phone and breaks the screen. I think no big deal I have another phone. So I get home swap my SIM card to the other phone and within minutes notice that the 4 and the r keys on the iPhone aren’t working quite right. Everything else seems to be fine. So I go back to radio shack three times. The first two Ricky isn’t there. The next time he is and he checks my paperwork and says I’m out of my thirty day warranty. So I ask him if he put used parts in my phone and said no they didn’t use used parts repairing phones. I reminded him about my friend with the pictures which of course he has no recollection of. I told him that whatever was done to my phone the first time around when he demonstrated it working it was in fact not working. He said he couldn’t check the entire screen on phones when he fixed them. So quality control speaks for itself. So I was sold junk parts and demonstrated a working fixed phone when indeed it hadn’t been properly checked out. When I installed water heaters and dishwashers we turned them on made them take water to check for leaks and such. Ricky refused to fix my phone which was only a matter of days out of his bogus warranty. Wouldn’t fix my phone that he never really fixed in the first place. It being a small town and considering the amount of business I do there it seems ignorant to me to treat you customers like this and very poor practices using old used parts and passing them off as new. Luckily changing the screens like Ricky does wasn’t to hard. Just a YouTube video and eight dollar set of tools. He still got me for $130-$150 bucks for a phone he didn’t fix. One that I wasn’t going to fix but he quickly talked me into because “you could easily sell it for $200 working.” Thanks a lot RICKY! Other than Ricky and having your phone fixed it’s probably a decent place. But steer clear of the guy who won’t shut up about being...
Read moreI understand why some people may be upset at this place such as the guy who paid too much for his phone to be fixed. 1. Phone screens are expensive so don't whine cause YOU broke it. 2. The people who own this business are good Christians & they are extremely fair to everyone. They will bend over backwards to help you or make things right. They cannot help that some of their workers that have come through there were bad apples. Its still costing them but I hope others realize its a great place to get things you usually have to search online for. Please visit them & find out they are friendly & will fix whatever problem you have. ...
Read moreWith so many Radio Shack Stores closing their doors, its sad, because its a great store. We visited the Radio Shack in Newland, NC and were very pleased. The staff knew their merchandise, (unlike Wally World) plus the owner of the store actually operates his store and greets you, while you are in the store. If you need security systems, or almost any electronics, go to Radio Shack, they are one of the few owned stores out there who take great care of their customers. In addition, we found their...
