We came to Newland to stay in an Airbnb. On our way, we wanted to place an order for pickup so we could feed our family of young kids quickly when we got in. We called on the way, got through most of the order, but then was told it would be an hour before three pizzas would be ready so we cancelled the order. At this point, our cell reception went in and out and we were unable to effectively communicate with the hostess, as we repeatedly tried to tell her to cancel it. The call dropped, and we assumed that was that. There's no way they would make an order they weren't able to confirm, or give a final price to, or try to collect payment from on the phone.
Fast forward to the next day and we try again. My wife places the order and arrives to pick up our pizzas. She is greeted by a surly, unfriendly manager who informs her our pizzas were not made because they had made the pizzas last night that we'd ordered and never came and got them. My wife explains that we had cancelled that order. He doesn't care, and says both yesterday and today he'd tried to call us back, but we never received the calls. My wife demonstrates her phone has received no calls from the store. He said the phone just kept ringing, which is not a problem with our phone, because it would've gone to voicemail if it had actually come through to us.
So after scolding my wife for not coming to pickup pizzas he didn't confirm yesterday, she left with two very hungry kids, and no pizzas.
I'm sorry we had confusion about this order, but it's not our fault you made an order you weren't able to confirm, or that your phones are unable to reach our cellphone.
Had we assumed and it was confirmed and not cancelled and come in the prior day to find out you hadn't made it the order because the call dropped and we couldn't confirm, it would've made perfect sense. We would've been frustrated, but understood.
Not making our order the next day on an order we absolutely confirmed is unacceptable.
We will be back to this Airbnb. We will not be spending any money at...
Read moreIf it was possible to leave a No star review I would. Went here last week for the second attempt of trying it since the ownership change and reopening. The first time I went with someone and we waited 55 mins, all we were served with were drinks and menu's. No one came back to get our order. We got up and left, I left money on the table for the drinks. The second and most recent time (last week, Oct. 11th) I waited 53 mins for a small three topping pizza. It took 10-15 mins for the waitress to come up to my table with a menu and to grab my drink order. When she did, "I apologize, I didn't see you skulk in here." I just laughed it off and asked for a sweet tea and let her know it was my first time ever eating there. She went and got my "Sweet Tea", it was not sweet. I then proceeded to order a small three topping pizza mushrooms, green peppers, and sausage. I then proceeded to wait a full 50 minutes for it. Then when it came out, a different server brought it to my table. The "Small pizza" was too big for the serving plate to the point half of it was hanging off the edge. She proceeded to DRAG MY PIZZA CRUST ACROSS THE TABLE leading with the edge that was hanging off and serve it to me. I was instantly disgusted. Then I looked at the pizza, absolutely smothered in grease. Also... they added Parmesan cheese to the top of it... I NEVER ASKED FOR IT. I ordered a custom small pizza and they added to it. Over twenty bucks. Not worth your money, terrible experience, and absolutely horrid pizza. I would have been better off getting...
Read moreThe good: The staff was friendly and the pizza was good...that's pretty much it.
The bad: It took over an hour to get our food. The waitress said, "well It takes about 30-35 minutes to make a pizza." Well where was our pizza 30 minutes ago? The soft drinks were watered down/low on syrup from the machine and tasted terrible. And to make it all up to us, they told us they had to charge an extra 2% if we paid with a card...instead of cash. Who carries cash anymore??!!
I dont know how this place stays...
