The Roxy Theater — Local services in Newport

Meh. Went there to watch a movie premier. Prices are okay for the tickets.

Then you buy the concessions.... yikes! 5 bucks for half a bottle of beer? Non free refillable large pop or popcorn.

I asked if they have refills the lady says yes, fills up my drink and then charges me $2.50 for it......

Then during the movie it just kept getting hotter and hotter. No AC not even fans to move air?

No thanks. I will pay a little more and get better service, sit in better seats, get free refills and not sweat my butt off...

Tonight 3/12/21 I took my 3 year old son to see a movie. We got about 3 minutes into the movie and he got sick and started vomiting! I was mortified for more then one reason! The staff was absolutely amazing to us when I told them what happened! They made me feel so much better, and gave us more passes then we paid for to come back! This is definitely a place you must visit if you really want to experience downtown Newport. The theater is old school and doesn't have all the nice features that many of the newer theaters have, but that's part of the experience.

You may want to bring your own snacks in as the concession stand is pretty expensive. The theater as a whole is old so don't expect anything really fancy.
