Mi Pueblo II — Restaurant in Newport

I walked in and felt like I was in Mexico,which is a compliment. The rice, beans, chips and salsa were good. However, it quickly went downhill from there. The wait staff was friendly, but slowwww. The food was some of the worst I ever had. I asked if the Mole was homemade or out of a jar, and I was reassured it was homemade. It tasted like jiffy creamy peanut butter, Hersey chocolate syrup, and a chile blended together. I would recommend using Donna Maria's jar mole it would have been better. I choked it down. Those that went with me had an enchilada and tamale, with some weird sauce over them that was unpleasant. Canned enchilada sauce, no matter how sad that would have been, would have tasted better. I think with a little guidance, the food could be good, but honestly I could not...

Every time I come in here I am greeted with a polite and prompt server who takes care of me from start to end. Mailyn our server always knows what drinks we want right off the bat. The food here is amazing...I wouldn’t have expected to find such yummy and authentic Mexican food in such a small town area like where we live, but they impress me every time. I would highly recommend the Zombie cocktail. My favorite dishes are the Alex burrito, the shrimp quesadilla, the Mexican tacos (side dish-shrimp/chicken/beef), the nacho appetizer, the taquito appetizer, the Matt quesadilla, the chicken fajitas, and the churro and ice cream dessert. I seriously love this place and their menu so much that I could get a different item every time and be perfectly happy....

Once upon a time, this was a fair restaurant. The new owners that took it over several years ago have destroyed what little redeeming qualities it ever, if ever, had. Like their sister greasy-spoon in Newport, Wa, they steal from unsuspecting customers by placing a dinner menu in their hands at 2:00 in the day! This way they charge double to triple for your lunch, and they do not even INFORM you, like American places do. Red Lobster, Applebees, when the dinner menus come out at 5, inform you so you can order before the change of menus. These people are dishonest and the one in Priest River skims extra tips by changing them on your debit/credit card to what...
