Weis Markets — Local services in Newport

Extremely rude male pharmacist. I arrived there today a little before 3pm, I didn't know they closed at 3. I was waiting in line for about 15-20 mins, the pharmacist was helping someone else this whole time. He looked at me and saw I was standing there waiting. Nobody ever said a word to me, or explained that they had closed at that point. A young man pharmacy tech came out and told me that the pharmacy had closed at 3 and I need to come back the next business day! We explained that we had been in line for over 15 mins and that's poor customer service to not help me. He said he didn't know what to say other than he can ask the pharmacist. I got to the window and the pharmacist was nasty! He said the person in front of me was there right at 3pm and I was not there. No reason to be ignorant and argue with me. There was a Weis employee behind me also waiting for a prescription (she has worked there for a very long time), he was also very rude to her and refused to help her. After I paid for my stuff he slammed the window shut. Extremely disrespectful. I don't care what his job title is, no reason to act this way towards customers. Being "the pharmacist" or "pharmacy manager" as he said, doesn't make him better than anyone else and certainly no reason to act that way. Shopping in store at 6 pm in evening shopping through store and the loudest floor cleaner I ever heard going all around in and out of aisles of the store. My wife and I was checking out and the floor cleaner was up there running by the registers, it was so loud you could not talk or hear the person beside you. Even the associate helping us could not hear what we were saying. You could not even hear the demands of the scanning machine checking us out, had to check my bill to make sure not scanned twice because you could not here machine. Un called for that early before store closes. I shop in evening because of working during the day. I won't visit that environment again. There are other stores in the area and I'm sure they are not starting to close there store up 3 hours before close by...

I'm newer to Weis, as it is a bit further out of my way. So far, the store has been clean every time I've visited. They have a good selection of items and the staff are generally friendly and helpful. I did encounter my first issue last night. At the self-checkout, I discovered that I can't weigh/scan/enter my own produce like at the competition's self-check out. The store was not particularly busy so I scanned all of the other items while I waited around for a staff member. I continued to wait for quite a while and no one ever showed up.
