I really like that they are getting a good selection of gluten free flours/ and other gluten free items. That means " shopping local ", rather than go to Des Moines and Ankeny. However, there is not a good selection of cheese....as in WHITE sharp cheddar, and extra sharp cheddar. I don't want the store brand. I noticed some really good flavored cheeses( Merlot; garlic and olive; and s few others) . So I'm not sure why Fareway can't get Tillamook cheeses, ....it would be nice to not have to go to Des Moines to get it !!! The atmosphere, however , is good. What used to be a "country" grocery store has now been replaced with self-checkout registers, which leads to fewer cashiers to actually check out groceries. This leads to longer wait times and frustrated shoppers. You can literally stand at the checkout and watch people, especially senior citizens, rage because if they wanted to check out their own groceries, they'd have filled out an application to work there!...
