Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Newton

Before I begin: the worker at the window with short brown hair was very sweet and tried to help as much as they could!

I bought two dipped cones, as we pulled up to the window we could hear a woman complaining that "YOU are the one that keeps doing this." Oh well, maybe it's work drama. We got our cones and the cone portion tasted like chemicals. We went back through the window, and were offered a re-make. After being given our second cones, they still tasted like chemicals. There was an older woman in the store standing close by the window who said "It's not CHEMICALS, it's just the cones." The younger member asked if we wanted a refund, we were unsure, but offered them to try the cone. The older woman said "Oh my GOD." but after trying, the younger employee said oh yes they do taste funky. They quickly offered us some sundaes as a substitute. I haven't had a problem like this at Dairy Queen before, and the younger person handled it well, I was just appalled by how rude the other woman was. Tonight 7-9-24 we stopped by to get ice cream around 7:45pm. We were greeted through the outdoor speaker menu board however couldn’t understand any of the person talking because there was others in background meowing over the top of the person speaking. No idea what was asked or said. There were 3 young workers inside when we drove up to the window and they were still messing around. Have no idea what my total was until I looked at my bank card online to see the transaction. Can’t believe this happened, like seriously meowing over the top so we can’t hear what was being asked and confirmed what we wanted. Not satisfied at all. Took 10 min to tell her what order was because she couldn't seem to understand what we ordered. Said I should have wrote this down. Repeated 5 times. Then kept telling us to hold on because she was busy talk to some guy in the store. Just stood there and stared. Left window open and said I'm not trying to be rude to them I'm just flustered. Wanted to add a shake to our order and was told to pull around because the car behind us has been waiting awhile. I said so have we and we were not going around.
