Literally consistently worst people I have ever interacted with. Left in the middle of a patient's surgery to move my car (which is a health hazard but the City of Newton doesn't care about poor people under 2 hour parking) and still got ticketed.

The people working there laugh when you express your concern that we are getting ticketed despite our patients not even having space in our parking lot to park We are getting ticketed despite moving our cars every two hours I am even leaving in the middle of procedures to move my car as soon and still getting ticketed I am told a new rule every time I get a ticket. Today I was told that I had to move my "car to the next street"...in the 2 years I have worked here, this is the first time I have heard this. A house on the street next to us, 26 John street, is selling OUR parking lot spaces overnight as long as they are "out by 7 AM". We do not have a contract with them and when this was brought to the city's attention, nothing was done. OUR patients can't even park in our own parking lot because of this city's negligence and now and the city of Newton has a the audacity to ticket...us? We can't even park anywhere. I will be providing surveillance and picture photos to show that the parking enforcement is just ticketing without looking at the cars--I was given a ticket today at 11:16 AM despite moving my car at 10 AM and this can be noted in the tire impressions. They are not only not caring about their job, they are actively incorrectly doing it and should be held accountable (they have one job and cannot do it correctly)

If someone is leaving their MINIMUM wage job 4 times a day to move their car in the snow so they don't get a ticket worth their wage, the employees of Newton need to revaluate their miserable lives. You all...

Called on March to ask how to get a birth certificate. I was pointed to the City's web site. Filled out the request form on the same date and called back to see if request went through. I was told that the birth certificate would be mailed within 2 days or so. March 22 comes around - nothing. I called the clerk's office again and i was told that I need to provide an ID to get the certificate. Hello? 3 weeks later you tell me? I am sitting here waiting for an important document which you said you will be mailing. No communication from you to let me know that I need to provide an ID 3 weeks later. You had my request, which I paid for, my email, phone address, ext. Yet nothing! No certificate and no communication as to why it is not being sent. I am disgusted! I went back to complain and i was told that you are "under staffed" An average household pays 10K in taxes per year in property tax and you can't communicate with people about a service that they pay for?! Worst customer service experience from a city government i have ever had. I lived in Newton for 20 years, went to Newton South and I am appalled by...

I went to pay an outrageous water and sewer bill.My estimated bills with the old meter ranged between $119 to a high of $195.My first bill with the new meter was $787.I did get an abatement for$125.It still ended up with a price of $662.I live alone and nothing is leaking. Its a very expensive city to live in.Two of my friends that lived in Newton all their lives moved to Marlborough Mass, where the roads are in much better condition and the real estate taxes much lower.Newtons population was around 89,000 in 2020.The 2024 population that I saw online was just over 84,000,which is a 5,000 resident decrease. In 1970 Newtons population was at an all time high at 91,000.In 1970 Newton had a police department that had 240 officers along with a tactical unit.Today we have 139 uniformed officers, and they have all one man-woman cars. They are understaffed and have to do more with less personal. To sum up,Newton is a great city to live in,and a safe city for the most part, but the real estate taxes and the utility bills are very high, and Thats why Newton had a significant loss...
