I cannot say enough of what a great performer and person that Merman is. I hired him for my father's 70th birthday party, which I had to plan remotely under a tight time constraint. When the venue fell threw, he recommended very good alternative restaurants and was always there to lend helpful advice during the planning process.

Merman offers a variety of performances that can be customized to fit the needs of the audience as well as your budget. You definitely get more show than what you pay for. As for the party, he showed up a hour early and was well prepared. During that hour Merman was very attentive to all the guests, including myself. You could tell that he is genuinely a good person with a big heart. The guests, ranging from age 4 to 80, really responded well to him and all enjoyed his show. I was attempting to plan a block party for my sons 3rd birthday. For 2 weeks I'd searched for face painters and balloon twisters in my area but came up empty. My friend, in an effort to assist me, created a Thumbtack inquiry and James responded. Once James and I connected, he made it so easy for me to book with him and his team. He asked good probing questions to determine what my vision was and collaborated with me to make sure he would provide the experience I was looking for. James arrived early to set up and was ready to go before the official start of the party. Michele, the face painter, was wonderful as well. She was so patient and kind with the children and above all she produced wonderful work! James twisted balloons to the kids liking. MerMan's performance at the Rocky Mount Mill's for their, "A Day at The Mills", was MAGICAL! The people on stage enjoyed the show as much, if not more than the people in the audience, judging from their expressions and that was no small feat because the audience really enjoyed the show. MerMan was funny, his illusions were flawless, and the show was sprinkled with positive life lessons.
