VERY RACIST AND DISCRIMINATORY AT THIS PARTICULAR ESTABLISHMENT! I shopped at this location often and previously enjoyed purchasing my groceries here until recently. A predominantly Caucasian team operates this location and I've noticed the unmistakable passive aggressive and disciminatory behavior. Particularly the white males at this location enjoy broadcasting my payment method to the store. I have specifically asked the team members not to announce my payment method and instead they decided to share my common courteous request with each other and now they purposefully do it whenever I checkout. While waiting in line at checkout I have observed on every occasion that they do not broadcast anyone else's payment method who shops here especially, women who are accompanied by men and moreover black women who are accompanied by black men. However, as an African American female who shops here alone, there is an unmistakable disdain for black women detected in their arrogance when assisting me at checkout. I am disgusted by the misogyny and discrimination. I am treated differently because I am African American, female, UNPARTNERED and therefore vulnerable. There is a diabolical projection that males like this carry for black women. I simply shop and they despise me for existing. I firmly urge all women, especially black women to be careful and vigilant if you choose to spend your money at THIS location. Since opening, I have shopped at this store numerous times, weekdays and weekends and at various hours of operation. Positives: great prices, quality products, clean, great location and good parking. Negatives: 1. Hard to get out of the parking lot when the store is busy. There are two lanes entering the parking lot along with a separate entrance lane but only one lane exiting the parking lot. I’ve waited a while just to make a right turn leaving the lot because of all the cars waiting to make a left turn with the Military Hwy traffic. 2. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. On several occasions long lines were at the check-out while cashiers opened lanes only to serve other Lidl employees, never offering to serve other customers. More than once cashiers closed lanes without giving the customers advanced warning before they had emptied their cart on the belt. They need a dedicated express lane. Some people take forever to pack their groceries and you may wait a while even if you have one or two items. Twice I’ve asked employees on the floor questions about the location of products. They left to find the answer but never returned. I keep hoping that this is just a lack of training and that the situation will improve over time. If not, they will certainly lose business when the Kroger Marketplace opens...

Great alternative to the big chain stores. I'm glad to see these European alternatives popping up, as they bring a fresh insight to the Americanized big chain stores opening and closing on every corner. My first time shopping here was a bit confusing as products are not laid out in a similar fashion to "normal" food stores, it's more of a wholesale environment. What they are great for : Bread....I'm from up north and good Italian bread is next to impossible to find here in the 757, they have it fresh and a cool self service slicer machine too. Much more reasonably priced than Harris Teeter (which unfortunately is the other best option for many specialty items that big brand stores usually don't carry). Great Uncured German Brats and meats, not even on the same level as anything else around here. Downside : like every other store around, they don't have everything, so plan on making another trip to your back up store. They also charge you for paper bags and do not use plastic bags. 7 cents per, then just keep them in your car for follow on visits. No biggy, I'm no tree hugger, but this is actually a pretty cool way to tackle the bag issue.
