Boracay Philippine Cuisine — Restaurant in Norfolk

Great prices, great chicken adobo, and I love such simple businesses like this. They pile high a container with whatever you ask, and it’s all ready to go right there. So this definitely will meet your needs when you’re craving Filipino! But, it was a little sad to me to see how bad the shape of the inside was. It made me think they had just scrounged together enough money to open, and we’re just getting started. But no, they’ve been in business about two years. I wish they’d put a little more effort into the inside to make it more presentable. Additionally, there were a lot of bones in my chicken, that made me spend half my time picking little bits of bone out of the bites that I took. I know that’s not uncommon for many of their dishes, but there really were a lot of bones that it took me a while to eat and almost every bite I had to spit a bone out. I'd seen this place many times, but never went in. Last weekend was the chance to go and it was closed at 3pm. OPEN sign on, but door locked. So I'd decided to try this weekend a little earlier and I was able to get some food. It's a little later in the day and the good items I assume were gone. So I had to go with what I know: pancit, pork sisig and rice. I'm not a fan of chicken adobo on the bone which has been chopped in half. I'm scared of shards of bone breaking my teeth. I'd also ordered some lechon which is pork pieces deep fried almost like chicharrone with meat. The food was good and the service was great.

Discovered Boracay Filipino Restaurant when I googled after a very disappointing Maymar Rest. experience. The food here looks way more delicious than Maymar. All the food I ordered tinolang manok, sotanghon, dinuguan & chicken curry are simply delicious. My hubby said that the chicken curry is the best he ever tasted & even asked for the recipe. Very friendly & great service by Leone, whose family own the Boracay Restaurant. Next time I will go back to Norfolk again I will definitely go back to Boracay Restaurant.
