Chico's long ago made its name on selling fashionable (but not trendy) clothes aimed at women over 40. Before I retired, my entire professional wardrobe came from Chico's. The clothes are great and last more than one season, but I never felt like I was wearing pink ruffles like a very young woman her 20s. The staff are off the chart helpful. The prices have crept up over the last few years, but prices are probably higher at Dillard's, too.
One of the things that I value about Chico's is that the sales people will always tell you the truth about whether you need a smaller or larger size, or whether a particular garment just doesn't flatter your body type.
It's also nice to shop with all women. I see men only at Christmas and Valentine's when they come to buy gift certificates for wives or girlfriends. The only bad experience I've had was when I flat ran out of money. As the cereal commercial used to say, "Try it....
