I have been to lots of salons and upon discovering Filed, after recommendations from my daughter, this has been my go to for the last few months. Super nice atmosphere and Kim is exceptional as far as artwork. On my first visit, I got a young man who seemed rushed and repeatedly burnt my fingers with the drill and instead of apologizing, seemed to be annoyed with ME that it got too hot. This was only after leaving me to soak for much longer than I ever have before so he could go smoke, then coming back with an overwhelming smell of cigarettes. My next visit was with another young man who was exceptional and took his time. Yesterday, I called to make a last minute appt. Having not been very many times, I just told them anyone was fine. I assumed my first bad experience was a one time thing and maybe he was just having a bad day. To my dismay, when they sat me, said young man was to be my nail tech. Again, I assumed today would be better. Wasn't greeted by him at all, only asked "what do you want!". I told him and away he went with the drill. All other experiences, the drilling is minimal and the acetone is left to do most of the work. Only more proof that he's rushing since he again burned 8 out of my 10 fingers once again, never apologizing and again acting annoyed at me for his mistake. You could see reddish purple marks under 2 of my nails from the drill getting too hot. I almost stopped him there but against better judgement, didn't want to make a scene. After a rough file job and going from one extreme to the other as far as shape, I was done. I relayed to him that the shape still wasn't what I asked for and that I felt he was in a hurry and rushing. His words were "I'm being very patient with you", as if I had been difficult up to the this point. I actually hadn't spoken any words to him other than to tell him I wanted a dip and which color. My bad for your drill continually burning my fingers I guess. He stopped what he was doing and proceeed to get up to "speak with his manager" who he then informed me would be finishing my service. He swiftly exited the floor and again went to take a smoke break coming back only to retrieve his phone and once again wreaking of cigarette smoke. When I saw Kim coming to finish my service, I could only assume there would be some kind of apology or that she would address the situation. That wasn't the case. She asked what exactly I wanted as far as shape and I told her. Took her just seconds to fix the shape. By not even addressing the situation, it left me to feel like I was the issue. I feel like having your nails done is something you do to feel pampered and it's supposed to be a relaxing pleasant experience. Rushing through clients doesn't do either of those things. Sadly, after finding a salon that I really enjoyed, even with it being a drive, I won't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt want to leave a bad review because Iāve been going here with my sister for a couple months.Iāve never had a bad experience until this last time. My sister and I go every two weeks and we always alternate. One of us will get a pedicure and the other one will get our nails filled. This last time was the first time I actually brought my daughter with me. We both got pedicures at separate times due to appointment times. She went first and she told me when they were leaving that her water was freezing cold and didnāt think much about it. I assumed honestly was probably because she is a kid and they didnāt wanna burn her. I get that. I got in the chair for mine. The lady that did mine was very, very sweet. There was definitely a language barrier. When she started filling it up usually they ask if the temperature is OK she did not. It was straight cold water. I thought maybe she was gonna change it. She didnāt, so I mentioned it was really cold. Painfully cold. She added a little bit but it was so cold it didnāt change. I said something three times before I finally gave up. I mentioned something at check out and was given 10$ off which was really nice. They were disappointed that it happened and shows their customer service is definitely better than all of the other places in Norman. I also asked for Gel paint, however what she painted was not gel. That is probably my fault for not catching it quick enough. But itās not even been a week and my toenails are chipping paint. Even if it was regular paint it shouldāve lasted longer than a few days. Not to mention walking out of the salon, I noticed that my big toe was very splotchy. I took pictures in the parking lot for reference. However, despite this incident every single time Iāve gone itās been perfect, even with the lady that did mine so was so sweet and tried really hard to communicate. I will try again this weekend due to my Gel x nails lifting(my fault, Iām hard on my nails) I would give this place a shot, itās beautiful. Several TVs playing several different shows, good music,Very clean, and they always set you up with a soda, water and a bag...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited Filed on two separate occasions, both of which I had not so great experiences. The first time, the nails I left with were great. I was happy with them. However, the woman that had done my nails had given me the genuine feelings that she did not want to be there the whole time. It was basically unbearable, it was really uncomfortable. I decided to try again because I did end up leaving satisfied with my NAILS the first time around. I made an appointment, came in again, and had a god awful experience the whole entire time. I showed the woman who had done my nails this time a picture, picked out my color, and continued on. From not being able to get the correct color from the books (and her getting extremely frustrated about it & made me feel bad), the nail tech speaking to her coworkers about me in front of me, and the genuine attitude that came from the woman who had done my nails was almost enough to make me walk out. On top of that, she didnāt agree with the color I picked, and asked me over 10 times if I was happy with the color after we had gotten the correct color picked out. I assured her every single time I was satisfied and that this was the color I chose and that she didnāt need to ask again. She then decided to talk to her coworker about the color I chose, in front of me, again. I returned home extremely upset and with nails completely different from what I came in wanting. The next day the first nail broke, the within three days after that two more had broken. I called to see about their policy for breaking nails, and all I got was to just come in the next day as soon as they opened to make sure I got my spot in line. As you can imagine I did not return back, especially not to get 3/10 nails fixed. I can confidently say I will not return to this nail salon ever again. Donāt waste your time just to ruin your day. The atmosphere is not...
