The man behind the counter was curt and rude. My order sat there for maybe 5 to 10 min. Before they asked me my name and handed me the food. Worst is this place smelled like a old dirty bait shop. I love sushi and have had it all over the world at hundreds of places. This smell turned my stomach today. I will never eat here again and will hopefully make sure none of my family or friends don't either.
Update- In response to your reply. I retired last year and my wife says I need to get out of the house lol. So i took a part time job delivering.. it is fun I meet allot of people. Anyways... after I left you store. I was reminded of the horrible service I received when I ate here last. Actually my wife has eaten twice at your restaurant and I ate here approx. 6 months ago. It seems you think a measly delivery driver couldn't afford to eat at your restaurant. Well ma'am or sir I can and I prefer other sushi places just north of your restaurant I won't name them. Also I said the man was curt and rude. I never mentioned a female. You was right about one thing all the ladies I talked to in your store were all very pleasant and nice. They are the reason I originally gave 2 stars for service. Ill be removing stars for the service I'm still receiving from your restaurant. I have reviewed over 100 restaurants and stores for Google and have gotten high likes. I'm rated as a local guide and I haven't been insulted by an establishment in almost a decade I think. So if a customer doesn't like your food, service or restaurants smell you call them a liar? Not the greatest tactic but to each their own. I hope you start to treat your customers...
Read moreThis is our second time visiting Ichiban. The first time was great. But this second time has greatly diminished the chance of us coming back. I came in with my fiance, ordered the hibachi steak and chicken combo. I asked for no veggies in the rice, because the picture on their menu shows that the rice has vegetables in it, and I personally just dont like them in general. The waitress said there aren't veggies in the rice, which I didn't argue about and still ordered it.
Food comes out, and I find out that the rice is the only part of the plate that doesn't have vegetables served with it. There's veggies smothered all over the chicken, steak, and even peppers sloppily woven into the noodles it's served with. I decide to just eat/pick around it until a few bites in, I pull out a hair.
Now, as someone who works in the food industry, and someone who has longer hair, I don't really get easily phased by a single hair. I assumed it could have been mine, until I then decided to try the fried rice. The rice was cold, and void of any flavor. Two bites in, I find another hair.
Aside from the food being disappointing, our server was distant and had no attention to the tables needs. No refills, and she asked us if we needed a box before presenting the check just to forget the box and very distantly thanking us as she was walking off.
Not to mention I also killed some sort of bug with a napkin on the table. It looked like an ant, didn't have any wings. Either way this experience was insanely disappointing and NOT worth the $91 spent...
Read moreI consider myself somewhat of a sushi connoisseur. I've had sushi with my daughters and my now-ex-wife in upwards of 80 places. This was in several states and cities, as well as another country (although not in Japan). This place is "meh". But, even worse than the lack of flavor is the seriously SMALL sizes of the sushi rolls. I tried to upload my picture, but it wouldn't work this time. But, I would think that making a roll barely bigger than my thumb width would be more difficult than just making it normal sized.
The 2 ladies were nice enough. While I did takeout and did not eat "in-house", the atmosphere was pretty plain. But again my biggest disappointment was the rolls. In addition they "cut" the wasabi, as many places do it seems these days. It was only about 40% the strength of traditional. Even more was that they only added about 1/2 teaspoon for 4 rolls. I like wasabi and want more than that for sure.
Unfortunately for this restaurant, I won't be returning. They may think they can fool people in Oklahoma. Perhaps others, but not me. The picture of 4 rolls totaled about $28. Pretty bad, I'd say. Only enough...
