We wanted to buy local so we started at Central Radio but our sale went south discussing what happens if something goes wrong after 1 year. They charge $100+ to begin service after one year warranty is up. I argued that that shouldn't be the case as I had previously had a dryer issue and a repair service fix the dryer for $60 after warranty and they came to the house without a service charge. Sale never went further because they were really irritated by me, said to me you can't get a service repair estimate on your car without a service fee first, that is not true, we just left. Found Hollister's appliance in Bennington, just a few miles away. Better pricing, service fee of $85.00 after warranty service that is applied to repair costs. SOLD. Same day delivery and install. Had an enjoyable conversation with the owner/salesperson who knew everything there was to know about appliances, will tell and show you the difference between a $500 washer and a $1500 washer, person at Central...
Read moreI’ve been a customer with these guys for over 20 years and after my recent experience, I will not be coming back. I called and was told a specific model was in stock. We live about 45mins away. We got there to find it was just a floor model, and they wouldn’t sell it. Turns out they never had new ones to sell. They tried to sell us on a different model that we did not want and the woman was very rude. After telling her that I had purchased numerous appliances from them, she replied “Well, everyone says that.”. Way to make loyalty feel valued! I’ve had a business in the Berkshires for 24yrs and that is not how you talk to customers or make a sale. We left. After a few calls, we found one and then drove to Marcella’s in Schenectady. We found the same washer (Speed Queen) there marked $250 cheaper and the salesman was much friendlier than the woman at Central Radio. I usually try to keep business in the Berkshires, but after this fiasco, I will not be...
Read moreI bought nine pieces of furniture from this store for $5000. The owner told me he would make sure I was happy with my purchases. Three days later I asked if I could exchange the recliner (too small) if I paid the difference and a delivery charge. He wanted a "$200 exchange fee and a $25 restocking fee" plus the difference in price and a delivery charge. Happiness at my expense, I guess. I regret doing business there. #2: I OFFERED TO PAY THE SECOND DELIVERY CHARGE AND THE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE (IN OTHER WORDS, I OFFERED TO COVER ALL OF YOUR COSTS). BUT THAT WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU. YOU WANTED TO MAKE MORE MONEY ON THE SWITCH. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE PROMISED ME IN THE FIRST PLACE THAT YOU WOULD MAKE SURE I WAS HAPPY. I AM NOT, AND YOUR WORDS TURNED OUT...
