I did not have a good experience Sat. at this store where I go all the time. When the cashier rang me up I thought to myself it seems high. I proceeded to leave the checkout area and stopped and checked my receipt. The cashier rang three bags of peanuts and I only was buying two bags. I only had two bags of peanuts a bag of dried cat food and a little box of cookies. Hardly anything I was buying. I went to the cashier a few feet away and told him this. He acted like he didn't even care. He went to the cash register looked at something and then summoned I guess a manager of sorts. She then goes to the cash register and does something and walks away and then he is doing something at the cash register. I walk over to the screen at the cash register to see what is up and he mumbles something about rebate and you will only get a $1.91 back in your account and here's going to be a coupon for the other part of the money which is $5 and something. I was perplexed. I told him this is not my mistake!!!!! This is your mistake. I told him to void the sale. And start his ring over from the beginning. You see he wanted to say that I bought the bag of peanuts but decided to return it therefore I don't get all my money back I would only get a portion of it back with the other part of the money to be used in house inside the store. Well folks that's bogus!!!!! So he calls the woman manager or whoever she was back over to the cash register who then has to slide the card and do something else. Now during this time they all had an attitude. Not one time during this experience did the kids say OG I'm sorry I didn't mean to bring three bags of peanuts up. Nor did they even say what they were going to do. I had to tell them what to do. And that is cancel the order cancel the wholesale and begin the re-ring up. Never once was an apology given to me. And I don't like that kind of behavior. I'm an old lady and I just felt as though I was taken advantage of. That's how I feel and that's that. This place will not get a lot of stars from me. At least he could have done was apologize because he made a mistake. He just did not care.!!!!!! AND do the ring...
Read moreMike and Diana the store managers are unprofessional and unqualified for the positions they hold. I was rented a filthy rug doctor yesterday that didnât work. I brought the machine back after about an hour of trying to troubleshoot the issue. I received a second rug doctor when I came back. This one wasnât filthy like the first one but it again didnât work. The machine failed to spray any water. I brought the machine back the following day since I had already wasted 3 hours of my time with Menards rig doctors that donât work and needed to actually finish the job I started. How crazy!
After giving up on trying to get the second machine to work I decided to go to Home Depot. They rented me a much heavier duty machine for the same price as Menards version. I bring it to the job and it fires right up without issue. And get this the machine was actually cleaned when I picked it up!!!!
Back to today when I returned the second rug doctor to Menards. Diana and the other lady at the return register had the audacity to try gas lighting me over their broken machine stating that I didnât properly clean the machine that was given to me in the same condition I was returning it. They proceeded to attempt to get me to pay a $20 cleaning fee despite not actually getting to use the machine. In the end the manager Mike came over and informed me that it was actually my responsibility to have called them yesterday to inform them that their second machine wasnât working. And that because I hadnât called them they werenât going to do anything for me and I was more or less full of sh*t in their minds.
In the end the lady who cleans the machines or is supposed to at least came over partially disassembled the spray nozzle and discovered about 2 inches of lint clogging the spray nozzle. But thatâs apparently my fault despite not even being able to use the machine in the first place.
Lesson here is that if you want to rent equipment go to Home Depot or an independent...
Read moreMade a quick stop today Friday 6/25 to check out their outdoor lighting options. Menards is my husband's favorite store, so I came in to browse by myself. Found nice lights & new firepit. On the way to register I liked some folding chairs. I asked nearby guys for help. 1st young man did not even bother to give me eye contact, fixing his sign was more important. I asked an older man for the difference in chairs answered before I can ask him for help bringing them to the register he walked away. So I just walked away to try check out. Jocelyn at the register greeted me with smiling eyes and asked if I found everything I needed. I told her about her coworkers that I apparently bothered and were to busy to help me bring a few chairs. Jocelyn quickly apologized and called Daniella on walkie for help.. Daniella greeted me and proceeded to take care of me very quickly. Honestly it did not even take her 2 minutes to put those chairs in a new cart and bring to register. Daniella asked if I needed help bring the chairs to my vehicle. I said, yes please. Jose shows up to help before I was even able to put my wallet away. These 3 blew me away with their professionalism and happy to help attitude. It was a very long day for me, my feet hurt but I needed new lights for my son's birthday party and ended up buying more. I am very happy with my purchase that I can't even care how lazy those other guys were. Jose put all my items in my truck, was very polite and very happy guy. Menards, PLEASE hire more people like Jocelyn, Daniella and Jose as they are perfect team...
