😳 (OMG!!) This was my first experience trying Vietnamese Cooking and my first time trying their dishes was THE BESTS!!! I have just became a fan and a future visitor/customer of this small hideaway secret of a restaurant. I tried the Pho for the first time which consisted of beef, meatballs and veggies. The beef was extremely tender, the meatballs were quite tasty and the vegetables with the fresh raw bean sprouts (my favorite ) added more to the soup than I expected. Everything is separately packaged when ordered and carried out with Pho (SOUP) but when getting it home and cooking everything together it becomes ONE HUGE meal which could be served in two servings AND not JUST one. As I came to find out when I started to put everything together and warmed it up for my dinner - meal. Yea the Pho is a lot and it puts YOU in mind of Ramen (Soup) Noodles but way better and the seasoning is added TOUCH giving the SOUP tons of flavor. I asked the cashier to make mine spicy which MADE THE PHO TASTES even better. Then I ordered the chicken sandwich with fresh vegetables that sandwich was so D@@M good I will probably comeback just for the sandwich alone. I asked to make the sandwich spicy (Chili Sauce) as well which gave the sandwich tons of flavor!!! The lasts thing I ordered was the Chicken Chili Lemongrass entree with white rice, another fine dish. The cashier was nice and extremely helpful, being it was my first time and ALL. The place was clean the whole order took 15 minutes and THE three dishes costs $33. dollars and some change. I DIDNT know what to expect but what I got was good food at a very reasonable price. I will be back AND...
Read moreTLDR: An excellent place for takeout or dine-in vietnamese food.
Food: We had two varieties of pho, crab rangoon, a taro milk tea, and a lavender latte. All of it was quite delicious. The pho was more than enough to fill a large appetite with about a serving left over for later. They do have a small, which might be a good option if you don't like leftover pho.
Service: Polite, to the point, and efficient.
Seating: They have a couple tables that can fit six people, a few more than can fot four, and a couple of tables that fit two.
Cleanliness: They keep the front of the house very presentable and clean. You can see into the kitchen from the counter and it looked very well kept. Organized and clean.
Accessibility: Saw a gentleman in a wheelchair sitting at one of the larger tables, and the doorway doesn't have a huge lip or anything like that. The door isn't automatic though so might not be amenable for lone nonambulatory wheelchair diners without help from staff or a good Samaritan to hold the door. It was quite snowy when we went so I'm not sure whether or not it's in close proximity to a accessibility parking spot and curb cut.
Other Observations: They don't have a public bathroom but they do have a sign on the door to that affect. I saw a set of hi-chair adapters stowed underneath the waiting benchs. There are takeout containers and bags accessible to the tables. Given the regular portions are quite filling, this is...
Read moreFinally found a great spot for pho in Northwest Indiana/Southeast burbs. This is a little gem I found while trying to get my fix of pho. Let me say, I'm a great fan of pho. Have been all over the city and burbs looking for the best pho. Well when I don't feel like driving too far, I can go right up the street and get some great pho!
I really love this little spot. Although it is in a strip mall, it's not your typical strip mall spot. It's a cutsy, intimate spot that would be pretty cool for a casual date. They don't serve liquor but Indiana doesn't have any laws regarding BYOB. They said as long as it's in a brown paper bag, they don't have any problem with you bringing your own liquor. That's pretty awesome! The place itself is very clean and small. It's cozy with Vietnamese art and cities that cover the wall. I love the fact that they don't have a television in here, it's truly a talk to each other type of environment.
I ordered the veggie pho and my friend had the seafood pho. Both were absolutely amazing! The thing with pho is the broth has to be on point for the soup to be good and this broth was kickin'! I'm so glad I have this great spot near me. I definitely will be a...
