Dollar General — Local services in North Vernon

It's common to hear about the low quality of products from businesses like this, and this location is no different. Every stylus i have purchased has fallen apart within about a month. I purchased a charger cord converter, and it lasted 15 minutes before it completely died. I purchased socks, and when reading the label, it had the California warning about hazardous chemicals. Selling pens/markers one at a time in individual packages is annoying while wasting resources. On a recent trip, i was trying to find art supplies, and im not pleased with some products. In particular, when a product says it has 64 pages, but when taking the time to count, it actually has 32. Trying to sell something with false information is very sneaky and really makes a person question buying anything. If i have to literally count the pages of a book, it makes purchasing anything scary. What is being completely left out on the product packaging? An additional annoyance is the pricing. Any half decent looking item is going to be priced a lot higher than a dollar, still be questionable, and often you will be getting less quantity of items. A lower price doesnt mean much if you have to buy three items to equal one from another business. The fact that the same kinds of products will be set up in multiple parts of the store is frustrating. It really isnt helped by employees not returning misplaced items and displays arent kept tiddy at all. A customer shouldnt have to go to three different rows and half a dozen end displays to find a notebook! I miss the old dollar stores. They had consistent pricing and although the products still had low quality at least they were honest about it. I dont know if i feel comfortable buying from the Dollar General if i literally have to count the pages of book to make sure the amount isnt a lie. This is not a place to save money, it is not convenient, it is not clean, it does not have a wide selection, the products are poor quality and quantity. Even when an employee is nice that does not make up for the long list of problems. Them being nice definitely doesnt mean a customer should be giving 4-5...

This store is great for the neighborhood! Many residents are limited to mostly walking, sometimes bicycling and this store comprehensively covers most needs. I, frankly, would not have to shop elsewhere at all if I did not want to. Household items are priced right, cleaning supplies are widely represented. The grocery section has frozen foods; eggs and dairy; canned, boxed and bagged items, spices, etc., etc. Phones, cigs, Sox and cosmetics, pet and car care products are all under one roof. Truly a...

LOVE THE WORKERS HERE!!!! They are sooo kind and always welcome you when you walk in. They always have a smile on their face when they see me and thats heartwarming. Its nice to know that Im recognized and said hi to every time. The cleanliness of the store is better than most. Ngl their 1$ section can be a bit rough but everything is wonderfully displayed. Prices are good too. If you have the app you can get deals and coupons as well. So good stuff. Great place....
