The manager, who says he is from McKeesport and I better recognize, is unfair on a variety of levels. I'm speaking of the African American gentleman who is really full of himself out at the North Versailles outlet. The CEO of Goodwill makes 1.2 million dollars a year, as such the items that we donate should be priced fairly and negotiable.
A couple of the rugs pictured below or priced below the normal price of $6.99 by a store associate who felt a $1.99 was fair and light of the fact that the carpets were heavily stained and covered with dog hair. I wanted to buy them so I could help my elderly neighbor so she can enjoy her porch in her golden years however when I encountered the manager at the cash register and I handed him the tag for $1.99 he about pushed the panic button. He asked me who priced those rugs so cheaply and I didn't tell him. I didn't want to get the individual who was trying to move product that no one else except someone like myself that likes to refurbish things and help neighbors would buy. So I took the rap I told him I filled out the tag so as to save the store employee the grief.
Needless to say I was not afforded the price of 1.99 and I told him he could do something special with that whole buggy full rugs and I left. The supposed man then told me where he was from: McKeesport. He got somewhat aggressive verbally and followed me out the door. I thought I was going to have to defend myself but I'm glad it didn't come to that.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. But the main culprit is not the man for McKeesport but rather the CEO that makes 1.2 million dollars a year. What type of work does this individual do? Does he carry 500 lb loads of stuff on his shoulders through 130ยฐ desert 24 hours a day 7 days a week? But I digress and look forward to...
ย ย ย Read moreThis place is about as stupid and pathetic as any store I have ever shopped at gets and here's why:
I bought 2 different items on shopgoodwill that were crystal. Each shipment had multiple crystal pieces. These morons threw the crystal pieces into a plastic bag together without any protection from each other, so both shipments arrived broken. It really broke my heart to see the multiple chips on these lovely crystal pieces.
I send Goodwill pictures of the broken items & they refunded my money....so you would think this was the end of the story? Nope.
Apparently, these morons are blaming me for the broken crystal somehow in their stupid minds this was my fault and have blocked me from bidding on their Goodwill website? Look all I did was buy a few items from them.
How in the world can they justify blocking me after they broke my items. I just got off the phone with these idiots and they told me that they did not like the phone message I left them, and that was the reason why I was blocked. Again I say, WHAT is their problem. Their little, tiny, sensitive ears cant take it when a customer is upset that: 1 - they can't get through to anyone to speak to them because no one answers the phone and 2 - because no one calls you back? Again this is my fault? Yes I was frustrated but any other retailer would have someone answering phones. NOT GOOD FREAKIN WILL, they simply suck.
So in summary these morons get ALL THEIR ITEMS FOR FREE, from good people like us, they turn around and make millions off these items, and then have the BALLS to blame the customer for items which they ship broken and block the good people who have the balls to let them know when something needs to be corrected. Just a...
ย ย ย Read moreI donated a bag of clothes to this location. Thereโs a separate area for where you drop off, so I didnโt even have to go INTO the actual store. Silly me, I should have done that before actually donating to this place.
A few days after dropping off, I realized that I accidentally donated an item that I didnโt intend to. It was a nice Northface jacket my significant other had bought for me.
So, with my prior experience shopping at different Goodwill stores, everything is properly organized from Men/Women, to shirts in one spot, jackets in another, etc. โ PROPER organization.
I figured if I was lucky, nobody had purchased it yet and of I could just find it hanging up in the womens jackets section.
Well, this Goodwill is very different. They donโt organize items and hang them. Instead, theyโre thrown into huge bins that you have to literally dig through with other people like youโre dumpster diving. I had not known this prior to donating or I would have never supported such a lazy and gross business.
I did end up walking in there and asking the workers if they know where jackets would be located because I accidentally donated one, but they said they had no way of helping me and that it could be โliterally anywhereโโฆ
Determined and frustrated, I dug through as many of those bins as I possibly had the strength to but never found my jacket. I got over that loss, but figured I would still share my experience with others who may not want to support a place that is so unorganized.
Today Iโm going to a different Goodwill store to do some thrift shopping, one with proper organization, something a consumer...
