This is a small grocery and liquor store in downtown Whitmore Lake. It's been there forever. It has a nostalgic kind of feel when you enter. The isles are narrow and full and there's taxidermy hanging above the beverage cooler. They have most everything you need. I bought some premade burgers for dinner. I was also looking for egg whites and ground turkey, which I didn't see. I was ok with that because honestly, I wouldn't expect them to have those things. The place wasn't the cleanest, and my opinion formed over 35 years ago when I first visited this place still stands: This is a place to go ONLY for pre-packaged, sealed products, and that ONLY when you have no other choice but to go there. And you couldn't pay me to use meat, produce, or deli products from that place. Unfortunately, the nearest grocery store is a Kroger almost 6 miles away and public transportation is non-existent. I had to check into a hotel overnight unexpectedly. I had my dog, Nori, with me. She needed food and I needed drink. I saw Polly’s Market a mere .50 miles away on Google maps. We walked along the lake to the market. As I was contemplating tying Nori up to the anchor in front of the store, a woman comes up to me and said I did not need to tie my dog up, she was welcome in the store. I was so thankful!!! I really didn’t want to leave Nori out there, but I did not want to over step their boundaries.
