Whitmore Lake is roughly half way between home and our kids on campus. Serves as a good meeting point to catch up with the kids, pass off meal prep meals, laundry or even the spare car.
Ate here for the first time despite having lived down the street 25+/- years ago. Ordered a pan ham and cheese pizza for the main purpose of having left overs. Great flavor, plenty of cheese, not really a deep dish, but not thin crust either. Not too greasy. 2 pieces was definitely enough for me.
Rest of the party included 2 orders of the fish and chips (one potato cheese soup, 1 beef soup) and a BLT Combo.
Fries could have been hotter, but were very pleasantly flavored, and crispy. Potato Soup was good, piping hot and had bacon in it as well. No complaints on the Beef Stew either.
Very much a sports/pub atmosphere. Tables with the view of the lake naturally are more in demand, so we opted for the first available in the back, semi-lower area in front of the large TV showing a march madness basketball game.
Attentive wait staff. They do advertise the convenience fee for Credit/Debit transactions so be advised if you're on a budget you'll be dinged an extra ~3%.
Will definitely try it again, menu had lots of attractive...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! Just appalled at this family atmosphere restaurant that ruined our family dining experience while celebrating a wonderful day… we were out of towners, that pulled off the highway thinking we found a gem… Must mention Waitresses were good! However Owner should find another line of work… When your entree is not right from the very first bite and you immediately tell the server w/o touching anymore. The owner then Charges us ala cart for the side dishes that were INCLUDED with the meal. He was even argumentative! If all I wanted was a salad and a vegetable that’s what I would’ve ordered but instead, I ordered a whole meal and was charged à la carte for what I ate because it was part of my overdone meal… My bad I should’ve been able to see the future and not eat my salad prior to my meal being served bc I knew my fish was going to be tasteless, overdone and not edible. We are just so astonished to be treated this way . This is coming from a person whose family has been in the same type of business for over 100 + years. You should be honored that people chose your restaurant NOT the other way around! Needless to say we will never be...
Read moreOur meal consisted of the a bowl of loaded potato soup, side Caesar salad, and we split a /12 lb. cheeseburger with fries. Total bill was a bit over $31 bucks. So $12 burger +$1 for cheese +$4 dollars for fries equals a $17 cheeseburger platter. Next the $7 dollar Caesar salad that was very small with bottled dressing croutons and parm cheese was just okay at best. The soup was just okay as well. The rub was the fact that the burger was nowhere near 1/2 lb. We ordered it medium and it came out RARE as can be. They cut it in half and served it on 2 plates, very thoughtful but still too rare for my wife to eat. After it was dropped off the waitress did not return for 10-12 minutes to ask how everything was. When I told her my wife could not eat her burger (lunch) she asked if we would like it cooked to a better temp. We said no (because it had been sitting for 10-12 minutes) and she said okay will that be all today. I don't like to give 2 star reviews and my google reviews prove this. I expected a lot better for a $13 dollar burger. Funny the service started off nice but ended poorly, and it was not crowded on a...
