Cons: Long wait times, lack of communication, unable to give more than 1.5 day notice about when they're coming to do the job. 10/28/19 I had Barberton Tree come out and give me an estimate to have a large dying oak tree in our back yard cut down. They said they have a wait list of about 2 months. That’s fine, I wasn’t in a huge hurry. I just wanted it done before spring. Since the price was about the same as the other estimates I received, I gave the go ahead for Barberton’s estimate. They said they’d call me the day before they would be out to do the job. I wanted to be there when they do it, but I work full time so I need several days notice to take a day off. So I asked if they could give me a notice of a week or so. He said they could try to do 2 or 3 days. Ok, that’s kind of frustrating, but whatever. I do have a little flexibility with my work schedule, so I’ll just hope they do it on a day where I can get off with no notice. Otherwise we’ll reschedule, assuming they’ll actually work with me to find a better day.
12/19/19 They called in the afternoon and left a voicemail saying they’d be out first thing the morning of 12/21. So, a 1.5 day notice. No options like “does the 21st work for you?” or “we were planning on doing it on the 21st, call us back if that’s ok.” It was just: “we’re doing it on the 21st” period.
As it turns out, that day didn’t work for me. So I called the office back and talked to a lady and told her that the 21st doesn’t work for us, can we reschedule? I was hoping that we could just get shuffled with another job in the coming days. But no, she said I’d have to “be put back in the queue” and they’ll call me when my name comes back up again. So, if you can’t take their day, you get put to the back of the line. That’s not good customer service.
I assumed that meant I’d get a call in another 1.5-2 months at worst. That’s disappointing, but it’s fine. Again, I just wanted it done by around April when storms would start picking up, since I didn’t want this dying tree falling on our house.
Well, here it is mid-April and I have yet to hear back from them. At the beginning of April I got tired of waiting and hired another company to do it for about the same price, and I only had to wait 2 weeks. I never called BTS back to check up on my job, but I shouldn’t have to. It’s their job to keep track of their pending jobs and communicate with their customers.
And before BTS says they don’t have me in their call log, I have my own call logs on my phone that show I talked to them on 12/19 at...
Read moreBarberton tree service has done it again and created a loyal customer out of me! This is the second time I have used their services in an emergency, and I am blown away by their amazing customer service, quick action, and willingness to work with me on payment options. I had a large tree size branch explode out of nowhere and fall on a sunny Thursday afternoon, blocking a portion of my driveway. By Friday afternoon Adrienne from Barberton Tree service was out at my house providing me with an estimate for multiple options of removal/keeping the wood. She also went above and beyond during that estimate by cutting back some of the debris that was blocking my driveway, making it so much easier to get in and out since their first available appointment for removal was going to be Monday.
Imagine my surprise when I got a knock on my door from PJ from Barberton Tree service on Saturday morning (the day after the estimate) with his crew ready to get to work. I hadn’t schedule the appointment for removal yet, and explained it was due to some financial constraints, but would be calling them to schedule once everything on my end was in order. PJ then went above and beyond for me and was able to work within my budget. He truly was a godsend. He and his team of angels in orange quickly removed the large tree size branch, and all the debris in less than an hour. Not only were PJ and his crew professional, quick, and efficient, but they truly looked like they were having the time of their lives, even with thunder rolling in they were smiling and laughing while getting the job done. This speaks volumes to me about how wonderful this company is to not only their customers but also their employees. I now not only feel like I have a trustworthy reliable tree service (and I have a lot of trees in my yard) but I also feel like a part of the Barberton Tree Service family. Thank you for all that you have done for me, your employees, and for our community!

I cannot say enough great things about Barberton Tree service! I had a large pine fall during a windstorm, they came out the same day I called for an estimate, and were back the next morning to remove it. They were so quick and professional, and worked with me on payment options. Shout out to Jill in the office for being so kind and thorough, Bryan for being so willing to help and providing a quick and efficient estimate, and Roy and his team for getting the work done so quickly and cleaning everything up to good as new in my yard! I am more than satisfied with my experience with...
