Ill start by saying the staff were incredible and tried to help as much as they could to make the experience good, but thats the only reason i can give them any stars right now. I don't recommend going here unless you have your own gear (tracer rounds or some sort of laser or flashlight to help show where your shots are going is highly recommendedsince its very dimly lit), are more of a pro and less of a casual, and are gaming against/with other adults cause the kids i witnessed there when i went were terrible and not in a skills way. Their rental guns and equipment are ok but just know youll spend most of your time inside spawn if you go this route cause you will not really hit anybody if your lucky to get shots out of the guns. When I went there was only 1 kid on the opposing team that didn't cheat during the several hours we were there. The staff tried to intervene and help get their cheating antics to stop (they had half the kids on that team sit out at least one game at somepoint or another for it) but it just caused them to do it more and start purposely aiming for the groin and throat at even point blank (I had at least 6 on welts on my neck by the time I got home from them). They even repeatedly shot at clearly dead players that hand their hands up and caused more pain and headache than fun. Everyone I went with all admitted that none of us (except for one) even really want to touch airsoft again after this for a long time. Again, staff was great. Field was cool. But the kids they have playing there absolutely ruin it for me. If your going to go have your own gear and be experienced and go when there are other adults playing and not just kids cause the kids will not be afraid to ruin it for you. Edit due to reply: This particular experience was about a month ago, but finally came around to leaving a review cause i was asked about it again earlier today. No I will not delete this since this was the experience I had. This review isnt about trashing the place cause as I've stated the place itself seemed great but this review is about giving people a heads up on what to potentially expect from the younger tryhard kids that go there and what id recommend in order to help ensure the good experience this place is trying...
Read moreMy recent experience at Odin's was marred by numerous safety concerns and inadequate referee oversight. The lack of attention to safety was alarming, with only a few referees present, often failing to monitor the game adequately. Additionally, hazards such as random buckets of water and puddles on the field posed a risk, especially to younger participants ill-prepared for such conditions.
One particularly concerning incident involved a child entering the field without proper eye protection due to lax entrance checks by referees. This negligence is inexcusable and puts players at serious risk of injury. Furthermore, the overall construction of the field felt subpar, with flimsy structures and insufficient maintenance contributing to an unsafe environment.
One particularly alarming aspect was the referees' complicity in allowing cheating to persist unchecked because the most prevalent cheater worked there. Throughout the games, referees turned a blind eye to blatant rule violations and unfair gameplay tactics.
Throughout my two years of playing airsoft, I have never encountered such blatant disregard for safety protocols and fair play. Instances of cheating were rampant, undermining the integrity of the game. Moreover, the staff's behavior, including participating in cheating, further eroded trust in the establishment.
The atmosphere at Odin's was reminiscent of the negative stereotypes associated with speedsoft culture, characterized by toxicity and incompetence among players and referees alike. This resulted in an unfun and frustrating experience, far removed from the enjoyment airsoft should provide.
In summary, the safety issues, combined with the lack of referee diligence and prevalence of cheating, make Odin's an unsuitable choice for airsoft enthusiasts. I strongly advise players in Ohio to seek alternative venues where their safety and enjoyment are...
Read moreGreat local field to bring some friends along and sling some plastic for the day! Pros: Great location! Very friendly staff $25 entry (cheapest around) Best priced airsoft shop, decent selection of gear, and a weaponsmith who can pretty much do anything to your gun that you like! Decent field with simple effective game modes! Very active on social media, if you have any questions they will 100% get back to you!
Cons: a good chunk of the field is very dimly lit so highly recommend you bring a flashlight mod. The field is a bit on the (abandoned warehouse) side of things, if it rained the day before the floors could be wet so be very careful where you tread because I guarantee accidentle trip and slip injury is a strong possibility at this field (this can happen anywhere) Lastly the games are rather short (10 minutes each roughly) it would be nice if they were around 20 minutes instead but this is more of a personal opinion.
Did want to make a big shout-out though to Odins Paradise for holding onto my mags for my UTR-45 as I forgot them nearly a month before realizing they were missing. You guys are awesome for saving me nearly $40 for my negligence. Thanks again! Support this field and go have yourself a blast with...
