Food Lion — Local services in Norwood

I won the employee of the year at the Food Lion in Norwood, N.C. today. I also quit today as well. Food Lion can have and will get their employee of the year certificate, gift card and cake back. On this same day I won employee of the year award I was informed that I had been turned down for the "Food Lion To Go" position I applied for last week, I was encouraged by management to apply for this position by the way. I feel so insulted. I started working at Food Lion in August of 2023 and have never missed NOT ONE day of work and always try to work as hard as I can. I am not incompetent, I worked at Bed Bath & Beyond for 23 years and had many accolades and was a manager there but the company went bankrupt, I then moved to Norwood after the bankruptcy and found few opportunities locally. Before Bed Bath & Beyond I was a manager at Targets for a little over two years. I graduated high school, took honor classes, Beta Club, was in band, was one of the top 25 graduates(#19) from a good 3A sized high school(Central Cabarrus) and took college classes for a year. I am a lean 120 pounds and move briskly at work. I have a quality mentality, quality is always first, I am disciplined and dedicated but you would never know this to be true after today's events. This is a great Food Lion. However, I would highly discourage using the instacart delivery! I have had one awesome shopper/driver who was very conscientious of my order. But, most the drivers seem to shop too quickly to ensure accurate items. I have an out-of-date product, 1 missing item, and paid for 22 lbs of dog food and 11 lb. bag was delivered. The groceries are paid for online, so that will be a hassle to get this straightened out. I will not order delivery groceries again. I will go back to Wal-Mart for...

I shop here frequently. The prices are decent and the produce is almost always fresh. Everything is easy to find here. Well organized and very clean. They keep their restrooms well kept. I don’t normally use public restrooms but here it doesn’t bother me because it’s so clean. They have wonderful customer service and there’s always someone to lend a helping hand when you need assistance. Great place to...
