The Roosevelt home is interesting, the tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. However it started to rain very hard outside while we were inside the residence and the management who is running this facility basically said we would be stuck there for who knows how long ? hours? They had no idea as the tricky could not drive in the rain ..or you could walk back to your original starting point at your own risk. No map as to how to walk back in the rain. The museum supplied a trolley for us to get there and said there was no trolley 🚎 to get us back. Eventually I walked back on my own it was much a do about nothing getting back to the parking lot .. The museum offers an excellent self-guided tour. The tour of his home was led by a Park Service volunteer who did a wonderful job of not just explaining what we saw but enriching that with tidbits and tales about FDR and his family. Read moreThis tour is separate from the Library and Museum. If you have a National Parks Senior Pass, the tour ticket is free. The downstairs was just as one would expect with all the fine furniture, paintings, photos, and rich decor. The second floor with all of the bedrooms was a little plainer than I expected, but still very interesting. The views from the upstairs was awesome.
