Let me start by saying this was the best excursion I went on not only on this vacation, but any vacation/destination I've ever been on. I'll start from the beginning and progress to the end.
Dolphin Excursions offers to pick you up from your hotel free of charge. They picked us up bright and early and on time and drove us safely to their location. We signed our waivers and began trying on life jackets and fins/flippers. They then told us how the excursion would go and we walked out to the dock to get on the boat.
While riding, they gave us more information on the excursion and told us where we were headed and what we were going to do. I had never snorkeled before, but they made me feel at ease on the boat and when we later got into the water.
We quickly saw a pod of dolphins nearby, but the staff said the dolphins didn't seem settled enough for us to get in with them and they wanted to lookout for our safety as well as the dolphins. We then headed to a different area where we got in the water and swam with sea turtles. While swimming, they had their photographer and "lifeguard" in the water with us, as well as a few crew members on the boat both looking out for us and any sea creatures.
The photographer was very attentive in paying attention to the people who particularly said they wanted a photo package, as well as getting them in pictures with the animals.
After swimming with the turtles we got back on the boat and throughout our ride we ran into three different pods of dolphins of different species and sizes. Our guides were incredibly knowledgable and gave insightful information throughout the ride, but especially when we came up on a pod.
We ran over out allotted time, but the staff was absolutely determined to get us in the water with some dolphins, so we returned back to the previous cove and couldn't find the dolphins. We ventured out a bit further and found them, and we were given the okay to get in. We swam with them for several minutes before having to head back and it was the most breathtaking experience I've ever had. When I put my head under the water and saw them I actually choked after ingesting water from breathing so rapidly through my snorkel and gasping lol. The dolphins swam around us and under us, and before getting in while we were on the boat, one spinner dolphin was jumping around our boat and spinning in the air.
We then returned to dock and ate our breakfast/lunch from their cafe (included in your excursion cost) and the food was great as well. The Dolphin Excursions bus then returned us to our hotels. All-in-all I have to give this excursion 5/5 no questions asked.
I also don't normally write reviews so the fact I'm writing one and with such high praise should tell you enough!
DEFINITELY book and excursion with Dolphin Excursions if you visit Oahu. I promise you won't be...
Read moreI just when with my children on June 2019 and I did book with them because of all the "good" reviews I read but this are all lies THIS EXCURSION WAS TERRIBLE and they act mean but with a smile in they face, and you can still feel their energy, They are so unprofessional,They rush us all the time, they do not let you swim on the water scaring out my children, the food was suck, we are vegetarians and they have a attitude about it, They clearly show this is just a Business they practically dump you in the water and a few minutes later rush you back to the boat,They show not respect for the ocean they do not do any type of ceremony to the Ocean like Dolphin and you do....They charge almost $60.00 for pictures and if you are not after them they do not sent it to you finally when they sent them to you right way you can see the lack of quality of the pictures and not professional it all in the end they sent it just via email, in Dolphin and You we get Pictures and videos in a flash drive in the End we did NOT see any Dolphin under the water they RUSH, RUSH, RUSH US....is so much more we can said about this terrible experience and I am writing this review because if someone have said something like this I will had not book with them.... lucky us when they take us back to the port I saw DOLPHIN AND YOU bus and being so sad wanting to cry of having a suck experiences I have the idea of giving Dolphin and You a chance so I book with them and I so Happy I did because they are for REAL a Ocean and Dolphin experience everyone want they have a Real boat, they are very organized, they treat us with Love and respect, their photographer took awesome pictures and video and sent us a flash drive the pictures and video was super professional, they give us food (Vegan) in the boat they NEVER rush us like this people did....They Talk and inform everyone this people just talk to one couple and left the rest of us wonder....EVERYTHING I mentioned I have because is what we was looking in this trip and Dolphin Excursion was simple 100% SUCK! We first went on the Dolphin Excursion back in 2019. Everything from checking in, getting fitted for equipment to the initial introductions of the crew was smooth and positive.
Being on the boat is my favourite part. The scenery, the air, the speed of the boat, everything is magical.
At that time we had Captain Jenna leading the way in finding Dolphins and other marine wildlife. She was super chill, and you could tell by her demeanour that she loved her job (sorry “job”). She guided us across the ocean on the safari and eventually we tracked down a pod of spinners who were putting on a dazzling display for us.
My wife loves to swim, and she loved the snorkel spots we were taken to, and she said there were tons of interesting fish that you otherwise don’t get to see elsewhere.
I on the other hand - am terrified of being in the open water because I can’t swim. I am also convinced that I sink even with a life vest on. The crew on the boat were so friendly and assuring, that one of them asked if I would feel comfortable having her escort me. I accepted and what an experience it was! I felt like a child of course, being rugged along with an emergency floating apparatus, but hey, it was worth it!
All in all it was a 10 star, Diamond experience and I would highly recommend anyone (of any skill level) to take this excursion!
Fast forward to a few days ago, and we are back in Hawaii! Of course we took the same excursion all over again and we were delighted to see Captain Jenna back on the boat! We also had Veronica who was supporting along the way.
Things have no changed - it was still just as magical as the first time, and we got to see dolphins again pretty early in our journey. Eventually the same pod came right by the boat!
We also saw a ton of sea turtles, one that even swam right up to the boat! I had never been so close to one before that moment.
I am pleased to say that even after 3 years, this is by far the best tour you’re going to get to see dolphins and other marine life. Captain Jenna is an incredible person and I wish her nothing but continued success with Dolphin Excursions!
BOOK THIS TOUR NOW!! You will not regret it!
We’ll see you again as soon as we’re back on the...
