Went just after noon. Didn't have an appointment, because I had issues on the website, so decided to just go down and ask. I was greeted at the entrance by the volunteer upon entering. She couldn't answer my question, but she suggested I make an appointment at the kiosk inside and/or I could wait outside as a walk in, maybe an hour, no guarantees. I made an appointment. Earliest availability was 2 days out, late in the afternoon. I waited approximately 40 minutes. The woman that called me in, Sandra, was helpful, professional and even though I had to correct some paperwork and then return later in the day, it was far better than it used to be. Waiting in the long and confusing lines could take hours in the past. This appointment method is so much more efficient and moves everyone along way more pleasantly. Nothing like waiting for 2 hours in a line when you just had a question or just to find out you don't have the proper paperwork. Even made parking easier. The small lot used to fill up and stay filled with a lot of frustration for those wanting to park and get in line. Easily canceled my appointment via text link...
Read moreAlcon, I am reluctant to submit this complaint for the third year in a row. I am a senior ranking military official in the U.S. Army. I have clearly observed that the employees that work in this office clearly have an issue with military personnel. I understand that they are just "doing their jobs (we all are)," but doing your job is much more than being black and white, there is some grey in there too, which allows you to work with people. The years before, I spoke to Thomas, Howard, Mark and Kary about the issues that military were having with this DMV. Today, I experienced it again with my non-resident form, to include an issue that the main office addressed last year. I am prepared to elevate this situation to the highest levels of leadership because something has to be done to mitigate the tension this office has with military personnel. However, I am willing to discuss this issue with anyone in the headquarters department that is willing to institute meaningful change. Thank you for your time...
Read moreAbsolute joke. It’s a room of incompetence. I understand all DMVs have bad reviews but this is a special case. If you end up going, watch them “work” because it’s nothing but chillin and not doing anything. I’m honestly jealous, I wish I got paid to not work.
If you walk in they claim it’s first come first serve. The catch is, they write it on a piece of paper toss it in a basket and do not monitor who is next.
If their friend walks in, they will stop helping everyone just to start talking. Again, I wish I could land a career this relaxed.
End of the day, I don’t like DOGE. However, DOGE.GOV or call their number. State of Hawaii controls most functions but nonetheless we should have it federally audited. Hire some teenagers, they have the same qualifications, require less pay, even better work ethic (and that’s disheartening). If you need to go to the DMV, go to a...
