Woke this morning craving bakery pastries. So before dropping my daughter off at work we stopped by Kilani Bakery. I ordered 4ea of long johns, malasads & custard danish. Also 1ea, chocolate dipped donut & glazed w/chocolate in the middle, for my daughter & her co-worker. Idk what my daughter's experience was w/her donut. But let me tell you about mine. The malasads I ate 1st. Thinking, wow it was pretty good 👍 so of course I'm feeling positive about the remaining pastries. But, talk about disappointed. The long johns were terrible. The filling DID NOT taste the way it's supposed to. Kilani should ask Zippy's to teach them how to make long johns. The custard danish was disgusting. The custard tasted funny leaving a bad after taste. I should've known better than to go back there. 6yrs ago I ordered a small wedding cake for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. When they initially got married they didn't have a wedding cake so I thought it would be wonderful surprise for them. But sadly the only thing good about the wedding cake was that my parents got one. The cake had no taste & it was very dry. I was embarrassed for both myself & Kilani Bakery. I won't be making this mistake again. I'll just stick to buying my pastries from Zippy's. At least I know I'll be enjoying the taste of what pastries are supposed to taste like. Maybe for Kilani Bakery, it's time to say goodbye to 60+ years of operation. I'm sure at one point in time their pastries were great. But unfortunately, with each new generation the commitment & heart to run the bakery will never be the same as...

Kilani Bakery is a local staple for my family. I've been coming here since I was a kid and not much has changed. Somewhat consider that a bad thing, but I consider that a good thing from the angle of timelessness. I stopped in today to pick up a few of their brownies to give to some out-of-town guests. I picked up an extra set for myself, which was quickly devoured lol. The one thing that I'll say is I dearly miss their lemon, meringue pie, which they rarely offer nowadays. I heard that it's because of the rising cost of the raw ingredients, which I totally understand. But I also wouldn't mind the option for being able to pre-order, with a set minimum, so we know that their costs are covered and that they don't have to worry about inventory/spoilage. If anyone from the team is reading this, feel free to reach out because I would definitely love to order dozens of...

My aunt brought me here to get some brownies. They were $9 and for those $9, I would have rather bought a box of mix and make them myself at home. I really REALLY didn't care for those brownies... and what was up with all the powdered sugar on them?

The 4 stars is actually for their other pastries. I picked up a guava bearclaw looking thing, a pineapple and cream cheese bear claw, a pineapple turnover and a coconut turnover. They were all pretty damn good but the pineapple bearclaw thing and the pineapple turnover and hands down winners.

Would return to this place if I was in the area. Bring cash if you don't plan on spending more...

If you have a sweet tooth for some delicious sweets, this place is for you. Located in the town of Wahiawa, you will find this hidden gem. Here you can find everything from fresh bread, to Long Johns, butter rolls, cakes to their famous powdered brownies. You can buy them to eat there or package them to go. The employees have been there forever and are so pleasant. I look forward to trying something new every time I go back.

Stopped by for some of their infamous brownies…came out with these. It’s puff pastry filled with chocolate cream topped with their chantilly and powdered sugar. O…M…G! Light and flakey with a smooth chocolate filling and their savory chantilly. It was gone in a few bites. Not sure if this is a normal item or only on Sundays. Would pick these up for my next gathering so everyone can try these and support local.
