First time EVER going to IKEA and it was amazing! There are so many good deals that you can get that’s cheaper than your usual competition from Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, and etc. I am so happy that we have an IKEA in Wisconsin.

Pros:

  1. There is kid friendly parking near the front of the store! We thought it was handicap parking but as we walked up closer to the entrance it was family parking for those who have kids! That’s a šŸ‘ in my books!
  2. everything is labeled with the price, dimensions, and etc. that you’d need to know about the item and plus there’s always an IKEA employee around in each department that you can easily spot that’s able to help you
  3. It is super CLEAN even the showrooms that are to die for! I thank the employees who have to deal with kids that love to touch, jump, and climb on all the showroom furniture (my kids) because they were so amazed at everything in the showrooms and store in general
  4. they have an area where you can drop off your kids for the adults to shop. I didn’t know about this until after we’ve been shopping for an hour but I’ll definitely have to check this out and is an amazing perk for parents and kids to be able to play with each other!
  5. Pricing is on point, depending on what you’re looking for you can get the same price with other retail stores or even cheaper but IKEA has more options that’s for sure!
  6. Food court/restaurant area is BOMB! We had the chocolate cake slice, salmon dinner, and meatball dinner and they were amazing and super cheap! The dinner consisted of the main protein, side of vegetables, and mashed potatoes for only $6.99!!! The cake slice was $2.99 but it was the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had, it was moist but so chocolately that just melts in your mouth! Kids meal are only $2.99 that includes main protein and vegetables. I’d go for the food court again.

Things to keep in mind:

  1. The beginning of the showroom starts right when you enter the entrance of the store and it can be awhile until you get to the actual areas that you want to go and purchase individual items. Once you are pass the showroom you’ll see carts for shopping although there are a few when you enter the showroom but it makes sense as there’s carts at the end of the showroom also.
  2. When you are walking towards the checkout you’ll see the warehouse items that you may have or have not seen on their designated departments this is where they keep their extra products.
  3. clearance and returns is at the checkout and exit of the store.

It was an amazing first time experience and since I have to go back to return a rug that was too small it will give me more time to go look around.

Prices for items I bought:

  1. Wok 33cm was $9.99
  2. Dinnerware was 79 cents each! I bought 48 plates, 24 cereal bowls, and 24 serving dish
  3. Mail organizing tray $5
  4. Potty training $12.99 (compared to Bjorn)
  5. Bathroom rugs $9.99
  6. Potato slicer $9.99
  7. Shaggy soft rug $99 (returning...

I would give zero stars if I could. My first experience with IKEA has been terrible. Yesterday, April 27th I drove an hour to IKEA in Oak Creek to purchase a queen Lyngor foundation. It said it was in stock. After working our way through the entire store, we find the aisle and bay number. The sign says it comes in two boxes, box 1 and box 2. The only box on the shelf is box 1. We find an employee and he confirms that it shows one more is left in stock but box 2 is missing. He goes and looks in "recovery" in case it was misplaced. He comes back and says it's not there. He shows that Schaumburg has one in stock and tells us that's another 1.5 hours south. He tells us they won't have anymore for a month. Before leaving the store, I go to customer service. After talking to and telling my experience to 4 people, I finally talk to the person who I'm told can do something for me. She listens to my story, tells me she's going to look for it herself. Comes back after awhile and confirms it's not in the store. Suggestions I drive to Schaumburg for one. I reiterate that I'm not driving another 1.5 hours and then have a 2.5 hour drive home when I already drove here with their system saying it's in stock. She asks if I want a different bed. No, I want the one that I found after researching for a week and finding it in stock. She asks what she can do. I said I am willing to order online but I don't want to pay for shipping. She says if I order it, she will refund me the shipping right away. Great, that's perfect. The manager at Oak Creek took the one out of the system that it said was there but was not there in full. While I'm at the customer service counter, I order the foundation and select next day shipping. My purchase is confirmed. The lady at the customer service desk refunds my money for delivery with the manager's help. I leave the store. That same night, I get two phone calls that way my delivery will arrive between noon and 4pm on Sunday. Great! This morning, Sunday, April 28th at 8:55am, I get a phone call from IKEA saying that they don't actually have a foundation to send me until NEXT SUNDAY. As a compromise they can refund my shipping. No, that was already done. They tell me that when ordering online it's either shipped from the nearest store or the warehouse which and neither has one. Why on earth would the manager not tell me that?!?! And why does your system say there is one to send me when there is not! And now I'm inconvenienced and have to wait another week to have a bed. I've already been sleeping on the floor for a week, I didn't want to wait anymore! This whole process has been a nightmare. This was my first experience with IKEA and it has been TERRIBLE. At this point, I never want to purchase anything else from...

I purchased a dresser a few years ago and it has held up great and was very affordable. However, my most recent purchase with them has been a sh*t show to say the least šŸ™ƒ. Purchased 2 new dressers in February 2024. Upon assembling the dressers, one was sent with the wrong drawer slides (and not enough of them). The other had a broken drawer face. I contacted them and they claimed they ordered the replacement parts and that I would receive them within 7 business days. A few weeks passed with no sign of them, so I contacted them again. They then informed me that they are unable to get the replacement parts because the dressers were discontinued.. No one bothered to call or email to inform me of this. So the only option I was given was to return the dressers for a refund, so that being the only option and, ya know, I kinda need dressers, they initiated the return. I called back later that day to change it so that I was keeping the dresser with just the broken drawer face (so that we can try to repair it ourselves so we have at least one dresser to use for now), and return the one with missing slides. I was informed that they cannot change anything once the return request is submitted. Cuz god forbid someone change their mind?? Called back again that day and spoke to a different rep, and was told we can just return the one dresser, and that we will be getting 75% off of the dresser we ended up keeping despite the damage. A couple days later they picked up the one dresser, the people that picked it up didn’t say a word to us, and gave no documentation of the pickup. I was told previously that the refund would come through once they pick up the dresser, however it was a weekend so I gave it a few business days and called again when I still did not receive refund. They told me that they have no record of the dresser being picked up therefore I won’t be getting a refund…. Complete BS! A week and several phone calls later, they ended up locating the dresser and took yet another couple weeks to receive refund for the dresser. It’s now August 2024, and I’m still waiting on the 75% refund of the other dresser… I’ve talked to several representatives about this over the past several months and let me just say they definitely could use more training. Everyone I spoke to told me something different and 99% of them barely speak English. Update: they finally reached out and offered a 5% refund.. when several customer service reps PROMISED 75% off....

I've always loved IKEA products, prices and their displays. I'm not so thrilled about this location's set up, though as I've been with the multi level one. It's one large box with a maze you walk through. It's exhausting if you're not there to browse for 3 hours. It's also more closed in and feels cramped. Other locations are more open. The restaurant set up isn't efficient either. If you're there to grab a dessert or cold food item, you're forced to wait in a line with everyone ordering hot food...a non moving line mind you. I waited today for 30 minutes to get through a line of maybe 30 people or less. The food is all out and ready to serve; the wait should have been 5 minutes or so. Numerous children, including my own, waiting in that line were getting very impatient and ornery. I do like the coffee/ espresso/ tea area, though, in the restaurant. And I also like the nice large and open and comfy seating area to the restaurant. It's also nice that there's a wall of windows and the view was all trees! And there's wifi. If you have young kids and need a break: check them in to the supervised kids area at the entrance and go have a coffee in their restaurant and scroll through Facebook or read a book! 😊
