I had a WONDERFUL time at Alchemy Arts Studio with the Starter Class. I've never worked with glass before and was looking for something new and artistic to explore. I have a disability and need a rather forgiving art-form and peaceful, easy environment. Alchemy Arts is above and beyond, not just for me but I'd say just about anyone. Tea or coffee, a great blend of smooth tempo music in the background, and friendly company classmates made this just the experience I've hoped for and needed to reconnect to a peaceful place and artful-expression.
Pat provided an introduction to the basic science of how glass works and comes together with our projects and some advanced techniques and a view of the kiln where our projects would eventuallyland. The studio is full of designs from suncatchers and jewelry to vases and bowls as well as supplies for glass artists. During the glass a couple people from other classes came in excited to pick-up their pieces fresh from the kiln, and it was interesting to see other projects from Pat's other classes. I knew barely half-way into the class that I'd be thrilled to attend another, and bring my friends and my mom and some family coming into town.
In addition, being in a wheelchair the studio was completely accessible and Pat was access-knowledgeable, aware, welcoming, and friendly. She was there to assist me in all ways I needed, including helping with tools and creative adaptability. I can't thank her enough for making her studio, teaching, and fun flair so inclusively...
Read moreI came here for a work event to creat glass art we could take home with us. We had a great time! Our instructor took us through a lesson on how the sun catchers are created from start to finish. She showed us examples we could use for inspiration, but encouraged us that we could just be creative to create our own sun catchers. It really was easy to learn and not a problem that none of us had cut glass before. The whole process took about 2 hours and we all ended up with really unique momentos. She mentioned they offer classes for beginners and higher level at the shop. It would be great to go with a friend, a group, or...
Read moreThis past weekend we celebrated two friends turning 50. We began our celebration at Alchemy Arts Studio in Stillwater. Pat and Phil did a tremendous job! They put forth so much effort and created a festive atmosphere - we could not have asked for more.
The class was interesting. We actually LEARNED about the different processes and how different glassware is created. She made sure we had the proper instruction to enable us to be creative and safe as we made our glass projects.
We all will definitely go back...
