Hey, potential buyers. After purchasing my items around early August of 2024, I I was elated about what I decided to buy. So, recently, I saw the Going out of Business Signs with up to 70% percent off all over Southfield. There were a few things I was still interested in purchasing, so my mom and I went on Labor Day. When I started looking around, I noticed that just about every item in the store had an upcharge. I became very bothered. The sofa I purchased was $1699, but now it was priced at $3400. My end tables were $399, but now $998. There wasn't any sale going on when I made my purchases. So why is everything so expensive now? I'm disturbed that hardworking, middle-class people are willing to patronize the store, not realizing that the prices are tripled and not worth what they are asking for. On that day, I was going to purchase a white vanity that was priced for $998, and I asked one of the floor salesmen why the black and silver vanity was more than the white one. Together, we looked at the black and silver, which was priced around $2400 with whatever discount they would decide to give for the item. When we returned to the white vanity, Kelli had removed the sign off the white one and said it was the wrong price. She was very adamant about the wrong price. Then she acted as if she did not remember myself or my mom just three weeks later after purchasing our first items.
It's not very clever to misguide the community in this way.
I will not shop here again, and I suggest that you beware of purchasing items with extreme price increases. Their items are priced more than Value City Furniture and Gardner White, and we know they have...
Read moreCeline was great and very patient with helping me make my decision. I came in to just look at furniture and I left with something I was more then satisfied with.
Update: While I was in the store I felt that because she was so bubbly at first that everything was fine. The demeanors did start to change as I got to making my final decision before going to the counter to check out but I let that go because I figured maybe they’re just ready to go which I understand. But after leaving the store and reviewing my receipt for one the price that she gave me in store was 100 more one my receipt. Then I looked this exact set up on another site and the price they charge is 1000 more then I could have gotten it at value city! Okay I let that go then comes time for delivery, before I even picked anything I showed her multiple times videos of my place and told her it was standard size and to inform me if she felt the purchase would be too big to be delivered and let her know my unit was on the 3rd floor. They bring it to my place to deliver and tell me it can’t fit and i’ll have to pay 175 to get it broken down which I informed them I will not because I communicated about sizing so that this wouldn’t be an issue even though I didn’t have exact measurements when I showed her the video she stated yes it look fine like it can fit through there. There was even a sectional that was smaller and cost less that I was thinking about going with and she reassured me this one I got would be better. They did waive the fee which was cool but I don’t like how they try to keep fast talking and over talking you and act like they just shouldn’t have broken it down from the beginning. now I have to call off to accommodate this break down when it should’ve just been broken down to begin with since I let them know it was an apartment unit...
Read moreI bought all of my living room furniture from here in 2018 everything was fabulous. January 2020 I was a return customer and bought a new sofa that didn’t fit in my suite so delivery called the store, informed them that it didn’t fit & that they would be returning it in exchange for the loveseat same style. We financed the furniture so even though the sofa was 100 more exactly and we ended up getting the loveseat, I could not get the 100 deducted from my contract. In other words we have a store credit of $100 ... when we came to the store however to use the $100 credit my husband went to the counter to speak to Julie & ask her exact dollar amount we had to use. She said $50. The display were my sofa and loveseat were with price displayed was visible when we walked in, however after my husband asked what our credit was the display price sign had been removed. If I didn’t mention it she would have scammed us $50. I loved this store & their merchandise but the service is sketchy & I will never do business with them again. Nor will I ever recommend them because of how sleazy they tried to be with their returning customers. Write down the prices for what you’re buying, & make sure all of your paperwork is accurate is what I suggest if you cannot find another furniture store.
I’m not even the type of person to go out of my way to make a review but this...
