I am so grateful to have been able to work with Altana on my engagement ring — she is truly extraordinary in her craft and her studio is such a treasure to the Bay Area. She has designed the rings of several of my friends, all exquisite and designed to their individual styles, so I knew when coming to her that we would be in good hands.

Despite her very busy schedule with clientele and the remodeling of her studio space, we never felt rushed when meeting with Altana. She spent a substantial amount of time with us in discussing all aspects of the ring before ever collecting a deposit. It was so special that she took the time to teach us about different stone options, their mining and lab production processes, and allowing us to examine different stones in different light settings and with a loop to help us in making our decisions. She has such a wonderfully warm and welcoming energy, and it’s clear that not only is she very knowledgeable and skilled in her craft, but she also truly loves what she does. We were excited to meet with her every time.

While I and my partner made the first few visits to Altana’s store together, she and my partner secretly collaborated to finalize the ring so that he could present it on my birthday. Not only did Altana push through the production when she was at her busiest right before her store reopening, she had also suffered a hand injury that had required an ER visit! Not to say that she shouldn’t prioritize her health, but it’s another testament to her dedication.

The ring itself is stunning and I’ve received so many compliments. When I wanted to make a few minor changes, Altana did not hesitate to have me back in her store and made the fixes immediately without requiring any additional wait.

Wow! I cannot believe I still have not posted this. I cannot say enough good things about Altana. We first came to see Altana around February of 2022 in preparation for our wedding that May and I was totally overwhelmed with the custom jewelry world. I had wanted to use diamonds from my grandmother's bands but the jarring cost of all other shops we had visited made it feel out of reach. Thank goodness for Google introducing us to Altana! At our first meeting Altana really broke everything down and made it easy to understand. She helped put words to my likes and dislikes--words like organic, low profile (so my ring wouldn't rip my gloves at work), and durable so I wouldn't have to remove my ring in my work. Altana really listened and presented me with many options to choose from. The price point was incredibly reasonable given the quality and service you get. More importantly I felt supported and trusted her with my family heirlooms. I had an issue with one of the prongs occasionally catching on a blanket and she quickly make an appointment for me, identified and rectified the issue at no cost. She really cares about this work and her clients. A rare find! With my husband's ring he was definitely a lot more decisive. Altana came up with multiple bands for him in a wabi-sabi style and sent videos of the hammering details and small differences in each. In the end he had something that was perfectly his style and that he loves. If you're looking for a ring designer, look no further than Altana's shop. A few days before I got married, a stone fell out of my engagement ring (not the first time). The original jewler was unable to get my in but Altana - whose store I happened upon as it is in my neighborhood, immediately took the ring, added a stone she happened to have that matched and delivered it to my house.

Her constant focus on ensuring my marriage experience was stress free and FUN is one of the ways Altana goes above and beyond for her clients.

After a few more stones were lost in the original ring, I brought the piece to Altana and she rebuilt it and redesigned it with me. I was in awe of her ability to take all the things I loved/didn’t love about it, respect the initial design, and put her stamp of quality and artistry on it. I am so in love with the ring I have now and it feels so sturdy and solid.

Her artistry ran free when we asked her to build my wedding band to compliment it. My husband and I had very different ideas and in our consultation she laid out different patterns and helped us, through her creative lens, to find something we both love.

She made my husbands ring as well! And I got a ring made for my extra daughter with the same stone as my band. I appreciated how she made something so simple, appropriate, in budget and so completely special. She was so genuinely excited to hear the story of how I gave her the ring - it was so kind of her.
