RnR Sushi & Bowls is a nice Japanese restaurant to visit if you're in the Oakland area. The fish was fresh, the service was friendly, and prices are reasonable. The sushi was attractively presented and there were a large variety of rolls to choose from ranging from rolls you'd find at most sushi restaurants (such as Cherry Blossom) to rolls unique to the restaurant. You'll find all the usual fish you'd see at most restaurants such as tuna, salmon, and hamachi - if you're looking for something like escolar, scallops, or amaebi, I don't think it's on the menu. Push comes to shove, you could always ask, you never know. As for the cooked food, the tempura is pretty good. It's lightly, crispy, and I like how the batter is not thick.

The restaurant is fairly narrow, so you may find yourself sitting quite close to another table. There is also outdoor seating on a back patio if you don't feel comfortable dining indoors. As for the service, it's friendly, although not super fast. They do give every table a carafe of water, so you won't need to hassle anyone for refills often. Overall, it's a decent restaurant to stop by if...

This place had been on my list for sometime so finally came here yesterday alone for lunch. Since i'm still prego didn't want to try the raw rolls so instead went for:

smoky roll (salmon) rock n roll (broiled eel) deep fried Ah Yes roll

I liked the rock and roll and smoky salmon but not a big fan of fried rolls, never have been. I usually love raw sushi but didn't want to chance it since i'm still prego. Perhaps too much sauce on top is a slight remark. Otherwise, sushi tasted nice and fresh, Chima the waitress was definitely very sweet and checked on me several times and the place seemed neat. Sushi came pretty fast too.

Very small place inside (although they have more seating outside on their patio) so can fill up quickly during winter time. Love the location on piedmont ave which is a lovely place filled with restaurants, bar and shops!

Prices are pretty decent and their special rolls menu seemed pretty nice. Next time i would love to try their baked rolls too. Something though was off with their tip calculation which seemed different on the pre payment bill and after payment so do check out your bill before you...

Delicious! Tasty, fresh and decently priced. Oh and CLEAN. Never looks dirty or smells fishy.

We usually do takeout although the back patio is cute, too. (We haven’t been on the patio since COVID though.) Staff is friendly, and efficient. To go usually takes 15-25 min, just enough time to pop over to nearby Spectator Books for a look around. (Note: the bookstore is only doing online and curb pickup during COVID.)

I like the Green Dragon roll—it is a big roll and flavorful. My wife gets the Aloha Bowl (upgrade to real crab!) over salad instead of rice. It’s a generous bowl with lots of the “good stuff”. Their large miso soup to go is a great value, and watch the specials board for tasty...

Evidently this is my daughter’s favorite sushi spot and I can’t believe that it was my first time there. Truly delicious food! The Alameda Roll has all of my favorites—salmon, tuna and unagi, plus snow crab! I asked for it spicy and they totally hit the spice mark. Very filling and very reasonably priced. RnR is a neighborhood gem and I’m very surprised that I hadn’t bothered to eat there before. It appears as a hole in the wall restaurant however, it totally delivers. Efficient service, happy staff, really good vibes. A true neighborhood keeper. Cheers!
