I’m so proud of Oakland’s Own!! My brother put me own to the brand when they were strictly vending at farmers markets and local events with their headquarters on Fruitvale years ago.

It’s our families favorite local Black-owned apparel brand nowadays and every Christmas believe there’s a new fresh Oakland’s Own hat or hoodie or leathers-man jacket in the mix for every member! I have almost all his old school hats and after today, I’m gonna need the V2’s!!

I just swung by the new spot and WOW. I’m gonna go back and make videos and take pictures of the shop because their gear has DRIP (it’s fresh, raw, clean, lit, fire, bomb, tha-sh**), you get it. Their designs always push the boundaries and include the diversities of Oakland for locals in a really real way.

The owners are easy to talk with, have extremely welcoming energy, and they will accommodate you to the moon and back to be SURE you love what you own. It feels good to invest in a company that clearly LOVES what they do.

Amazing place with amazing people! Their new location is on Piedmont. My parents had placed a pickup order for me to go pick up, but unfortunately some items were out of stock as they get set up in their new store. The man and woman in there helped me figure out what works best for me, let me try on various outfits and gave advice, asked me what kinds of design I like and I found everything I wanted and more! I got a unique puffer jacket, a Oakland poppy flower hat (an ode to the piedmont Rose Garden), and a Pac Man Oakland t-shirt. I walked out of the shop with a smile I couldn't get off my face if I tried. Thanks so much to the team at Oakland's Own and may your new location...

I never knew the owner had a storefront on Piedmont Avenue until I saw it while waiting for AC#12. I have been seeing him as a pop up vendor in the Jack London Square on Sundays.
