I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Here's my review: I walked in on a whim and was promptly seated. I'm on a mission to try some more places in the area. I got the chicken satay and the Panang Curry. Chicken Satay - flavorless, literally tasted like chicken with no real flavor. The peanut sauce helped but just barely. Panang Curry: curry had a little more flavor, it was slightly too salty. The beef wasn't that great compared to other Thai places I've been. Passion fruit refresher- refreshing but didn't have passion fruit flavor. I am not sure what it is. Service didn't bother me but I will comment on it - I dined solo and didn't get water until I had to ask for it. There was only one server, presumably since it's a small place with few tables. The server didn't come to check in on me. I don't think he checked in on the table next to me as well. Bathroom has sticky floors. Utensils seem Old and worn. Pro: relatively affordable for Thai in Oakland.

Quality thai food at affordable prices. They have plenty of dinner specials and a separate menu for vegetarian food. We really liked their pork belly and they had some great sauce in their curries. Note that rice doesn't come with the entree. We had the chicken wings as an appetizer, and I think that was sadly not as good as I would've hoped. The restaurant interior is quite charming, but they also offer outdoor seating on a small patio. Parking is relatively easy as there is a whole parking lot behind and plenty of street parking. Service is wonderful and they really allow yourself to enjoy the meal without too many interruptions.

The food was tasty. The portions were decent sized. The only complaint I have about the food is that the mushrooms in the Tom Kah Gai were undercooked -- basically raw. Not sure if this were intentional. The flavors were great though. They offer a special menu with their regular one containing just vegetarian options. I dig this kind of intentional inclusivity! The dining room was well decorated. The restaurant is in an historical building which adds to the ambiance. I definitely enjoyed my dining experience. Will return.

Very fresh and wonderful food! My new favorite Thai restaurant at a perfect location for me with a big parking lot and almost always parking in front of the place. Service is excellent with very attentive staff .

Saloni M.Elite 2022 San Francisco, CA 13134147 10/17/2022 1 photo1 check-in Nice service and casual patio out front

I loved my salad yum jam kao tod. It was crispy rice with peanuts and herbs and chilis served with lime and lettuce. It was DELICIOUS! Like crunchy and very flavorful and so fresh! I got the vegetarian version with tofu.

Would 100% be back to just eat this.

I also enjoyed this spicy shiitake dish with a curry sauce, eggplant, and bok choy.

Would love to come back with others and try more I just happen to want to grab lunch while going to CVS next-door and came across this gem

Crispy rice salad on the patio

Tessa S. East Side Capistrano, Oceanside, CA 1107 11/3/2022 1 photo We went to Charm for my friends birthday, and the food was amazing. I'm vegan and they have a veggie menu which made it easy to find yummy things for myself to eat! I had the Pad Asparagus Tofu with wide noodles as a side. It was spicy and delicious!

The staff was amazing, they cracked jokes with us and complimented our Halloween costumes. I will be returning and am glad we got to have such a lovely experience

Fantastic for vegan options. The experience at Charm Thai Bistro feels friendly and personable. There are little cushions and pillows for your back if you choose to sit at a booth and the food came out in a timely fashion. All of the vegetables tasted extremely fresh compared to other Thai restaurants around. They source ingredients from local markets and it makes a big difference! The mushrooms were especially delicious. The meal felt lighter and less heavy while still being satisfying and filling. There's a separate veggie menu (the green one!) and only a couple things on there list egg as an ingredient which you can ask to leave out if you're vegan. We got the crispy taro and yam highly recommend, the ginger shiitake delicious mushrooms, jasmine white rice (you might need a couple orders of it but it's cheap), and the Pad Ke Mao which is also Jain. Indoor and outdoor seating...
