A small party of friends and I were in the area, and decided to give this place a try. We were there a little after 12:30pm and the place only had a few patrons. It was also a Monday, so weekday lunches may not be as busy. The server was very attentive, but a little quiet. I ordered the Cesar burrito with chicken and it fantastic. The chips seemed home made. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. My partners had the flautas, and tacos and they said it was great. They also ordered drinks and were surprised how strong it was. The bartendar didn't skimp on the alcohol.
Pros: there is parking in the back of the restaurant atmosphere is good, warm and friendly; large front windows to see the views of the front of Piedmont Ave; food seems all homemade, fresh and taste was very good.
Cons: parking lot is always full and parking is hard to find; from Piedmont Ave, it is a bit hard to notice, and from the rear entrance, it's even worse - we almost entered into Caffe Chiave nextdoor; service when we went in was confusing and the server was either shy, or very quiet;
Overall, a great lunch and would go again if I was in the...
Read moreI've been going to bar cesar for years, but last night wqs one of thise nights where things didn't go right. I ordered a chili relleno, snd it was taking much longer to get to my table, which was very unusual. I decided not to complain about it, because they are usually very good, and i figured it was just a simple mistake. Finally my server came up to me and said he noticed how late it was and offered me a free drink. I did not ask or expect this, vit it was very awesome to see them vakidate my experience without me yelling anything. They got me my free drink, helped get the order through, and even gave me another drink on the house, to say sorry. I wasn't really even mad about the tardiness, but the fact they did everything first shows to me that they care about their customer's, rather than acting like it. Anways, end rant, im very happy with them, and I hope others will appreciate their care. Thank...
Read moreServing brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Contemporary setting, great ambiance. We were there for brunch. The Eggs Benedict was excellent! Servered on locally made bread rather than basic English muffins. I ordered an additional side of bacon which consisted of 5 lg slices of bacon, thicker rather than thin and lean. Awesome bacon! Mimosas was the order of the day and they had a Endless Mimisa special for $16.00. My dining partner had eggs on bagles, again, locally made baged. We actually passed the bagel store on the way & the line was out the door. Great bagels! Glad we were able to sample at Bar Cesar. So, upscale, not for the faint of heart, pursewise. But definitely worth the treat if you want an exceptional brunch. I feel anything there is probable a step above. More exploration of their regular menu is needed. So much to try, so...
