One of the most delicious, zesty, and vibrant vegan eateries/ restaurant in Oakland, Bay Area - for the culture! Hella-Nuts is Black women owned, conscious, and vibrant! They took me back to the south with the delicious, gourmet style fried green tomatoes (with corn meal). It had a Bay Area gourmet twist with truffle sauce that was amazing - garlicy-zesty-tangy, on top of the fried green tomatoes with lionsmane! I also loved the “I can’t believe it’s no flesh” sandwich, made with fried lionsmane in corn meal, with lettuce, tomato, cornichon pickles, and a dill sauce! Hella good! 🤩! You will looooove! The fried cauliflower was also delicious, zesty, and great texture! I also ordered a side of fries - delicious too! You will love it all; so many options on the menu!

Hope to one day walk into their restaurant and order, and be served in their establishment!!

Hella Nuts is amazing! the food is amazing, and the customer service is outstanding. My go to item is the walnut meat! OMG - its wonderful and easy to prepare. I used the walnut meat to create a very simple plant-based pasta dish. The texture, and spices of the walnut meat is unique, and super delicious. Thanks Chef Mieko and Chef Kami, you ladies are amazing cooks.

Wow! Food was absolutely amazing! Every single thing I ordered I would get again and again and again. If I lived out in the Bay Area I would making trips here multiple times during the week.

I’ve been wanting to try them out for a long time now and I finally was able to this past Sunday. I live in SoCal so when I made a trip up there I made it point to get there. After flying into Sacramento for work, I drove to Oakland (literally once the plane landed I got my rental and went straight there).

This is what I ordered:

Lobstir Puff - hella good! Fluffy Pancakes - hella good! Soft Cornbread - hella good! Oxtails- hella good! Tailgate Plate Banana Blossom Fried Phish GF - hella good! Natures CoolAide Organic Cane Sugar - hella good!

I love this Black-owned mother-daughter vegan business! I ordered their silky, tasty Truffle Cheese and asked if I could get it in a non-plastic container. Not only did they agree, they kindly contacted me after I left to say they meant to give me more and could I come back.

I was nervous about sharing my idea in having someone like MudLabOak.com or DispatchGoods.Earth help by serving or delivering their food in plastic-free reusable containers they'll sanitize. But they said that model was something they already wanted!
